Pricing

Insane that most of these apps charge as much as they do. I’ll stick to Canva. Just upload a graphic of a court, use the shapes and lines to make the plays. You can even animate them to show the movement. Highway robbery with the prices on this app. Save your money fellow coaches! We don’t make enough to begin with and they expect people to pay THAT much for something you can do for free.

Response from developer

Hey Coach - Most of Elite Hoops is entirely free (including everything you said you want to do in Canva). I'm also the most affordable play diagramming software available (check competitor pricing, usually Elite Hoops comes in at ~33% less). I'm the very coach you're talking about, so I make these tools for tons of people. Your review isn't about a big company trying to nickel and dime coaches, it's just me - one person (Jordan, hi!). I wish you'd give it another chance, there's a ton Elite Hoops can do and I think it's worth the money. But that's a choice everyone makes on their own, if you want to give it another shot - email me directly at sup@daywellspent.io - I'd love to have you!

Awesome App!

Love using this app to share with our guys at practice! Support is also super quick getting back to you if ever needed!

Thanks for the review coach!

GAME CHANGER!!!

This is a must have for coaches. Everything you need in one app. Having the ability to build practices from a drill library is great. The game changer for me as a coach is the ability to use the playbook to send individual videos to my players to review when we are not practicing

Coach

Beat app out there !!!

it is an app with useful features affordable to a coach’s salary.

I am so grateful to have found this app. I am not one to use technology too much because of its inherent limitations to perform well without cell service. However, having used the app, I feel it has helped me improve my productivity significantly.
But, more importantly the developer is soooo attentive. He has continually improved and filled the app with features that are very useful for player and team development.

Thank you Mr Developer!!!

Easy Play Sharing

Easy to use, doesn’t require a bunch of setup. Basically like having a digital whiteboard you can record.

Needs some quick improvements

It’s other apps that let you record the play and have the ppl moving w out using screen record. Save the plays and what not.

I feel I can use my phone notes and draw on it instead of wasting 45 a yr. Double tap to pass feature was cool but it’s other apps that’s free and does more. But good luck on update guys. 🙌🙏

Can you tell me what quick improvements you'd like to see? Im a one man team at Elite Hoops, a 2 star review really hurts - I wish you would've just emailed me about your thoughts and I would've been more than happy to help with anything! Thanks for trying the app either way, hope to see you back eventually! My email is sup@daywellspent.io if you still want to reach out!

Do not download if…

Do not download this game if you’re trying to use this for free. I am a player trying to record my teams play calls but cannot without paying $45 a year. All I can do is use the whiteboard (which I cannot record without paying). For that I just use one I have a home, or write my plays down in a notebook. Was really hoping this app could help me out, but it just made more problems. Please developer, at least make just the recording function free

Absolutely, anytime!! I hope you continue to enjoy Elite Hoops for years to come!

Good idea lacking the ability to design plays

This idea has a good base to begin with, but it is lacking right now. This app needs to be able to design plays in phases, then be able to have the players move and show where to go in the play based off the coaches actions for the players. Has potential to be good. Just lacking some things that could make this a real tool. Not just a whiteboard

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to share feedback, it's always welcome. Elite Hoops is focused on being a recordable whiteboard for coaches right now. I haven’t marketed it as a phase-by-phase play designer, but I appreciate hearing that this is something you’d find valuable. I’m a one-person team and I’m always listening, but to be honest reviews like this are incredibly deflating when you're dinging me for Elite Hoops not being designed for what you want, when it was never designed or marketed that way to begin with. If you have specific ideas or examples, feel free to reach out: sup@daywellspent.io - I *always* read and reply. Either way, thanks again for giving the app a try.

Bugs and clunky

The app doesn’t seem to work with the latest iOS. Recording would bring up a video copy, but there was no sound and you couldn’t use any of the buttons. There was no way to close the video or discard it. Needs some work but a great idea.

Makes running a basketball program easier

I am a junior high basketball coach who loves the game, but doesn’t have much time to plan practices. Elite Hoops has helped me make practice plans that are purposeful and effective. Also, I am excited about using their whiteboard and shot chart feature.

A great coaching tool

Elite Hoops is a great coaching tool. The practice builder is perfect in helping me plan out drills and time my practice. Big fan of this app and excited to see what else is coming!
