About
The Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board (PSAMB), commonly referred to as the Punjab Mandi Board, was constituted on 26 May 1961 under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.
The Board’s primary responsibility is to regulate, manage, and oversee the marketing system involving the sale, purchase, storage, and processing of both processed and unprocessed agricultural commodities. These include products from agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and forest sectors that are notified under the provisions of the Act.
PSAMB operates as a statutory corporate body and also functions as a local authority. It has perpetual succession and an official seal, along with the legal authority to acquire, hold, manage, and dispose of property for the effective execution of its duties.
