Just works
Remember when podcast apps used to be simple? No subscription fees, clean and attractive layout, numerous sorting options, ability to easily import subscriptions from other podcast apps or opml files? Well, if that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve found it (and I experimented with literally over two dozen apps so you wouldn’t have to).
This is one of only two podcast apps on the App Store that I can wholeheartedly recommend based on the above criteria. Podcast Republic makes it easy. I was able to import subscriptions from multiple apps and get up and running within minutes. There are display options that you can customize that make sorting a breeze, a commonsense aspect lacking in many other podcast apps. It has a good, reasonable privacy policy. And no subscription: just a nominal 1-time option to remove ads and another option to buy the developer a cup of coffee (both of which I gladly paid). We need many more developers like this!

Almost Perfect
In terms of apps that don’t require a monthly subscription, I think the app is worth it. The organization by adding tags to podcasts works well. Lots of customization options in settings.
Few things that would make it great…
1- Compared to some well known apps, the search feature is not so great. At the very least, it would be nice to be able to search an exact phrase on episode titles. Right now I search on Apple Podcasts and then add on this app. Sometimes still hard to find from the list of results.
2. On the app there’s an apple login button, which is great. On the web, there’s no Apple login. Would be nice if there’s one there too as I listen on computer while working.
For basically a free app, just a one time $4 payment to remove ads, the app does the job well. Overall, I think it’s worth it.

App fails often in iOS (rubber on Android)
I’ve to shut the app and repeat the process of starting a podcast very often on this release. I have both iOS and android and this seems to be only on iOS. Otherwise great app
My goto podcast app
Easy to use. I’ve tried others but I always come back to this one.
Sneaky update removed features?
Coincidentally after the update the app would not play on background unless I paid for the upgrade. That was sneaky and poor transparency. I paid because the app has served me well over the years. But be better with transparency, I don’t shaky behaviour
