Multiple Accounts Needed

I don’t like the idea of having to set up multiple accounts for each child. My kids do not have their own devices, and it is cumbersome to log in and out in order for each kid to be able to check off their chores. I liked the idea of this app, and having the ability to set point value to different tasks, but it would be easier to use if all family members could track their lists from one dashboard throughout the day.

Response from developer

Hi wwest253, thanks for the thoughtful feedback, and good news: PointUp is built for shared-device families, so your kids don't each need their own device. A few things that should help. First, Switch Profile (in the side panel) lets you hop between family members with a quick PIN or Face ID, with no full log out and back in. Second, the Family screen shows everyone in one place, and the Quest Board has an "All" filter plus a chip per child, so you can see and manage every child's chores from one dashboard on a single device. Third, as a parent you can approve completed chores straight from your own login. You're right that each child is still their own profile you switch into rather than one combined list, and we're always looking at ways to make the shared-device flow smoother. If Switch Profile isn't showing for you, email support@point-up.co.uk and we'll get it sorted. Thanks for giving PointUp a try!

Was great

Updated: amazing response from the developers! Fixed every issue I had almost immediately! Thank you! 5 stars!!

Changed it so we can't set gold and XP to whatever we want. Minimum on an app that I am paying for the has no bearing on the rest of the world, makes no sense at all.

If I want a quest to be low earning but still exist, why can't I do that?

Also don't reject a quest if it's a reoccurring one. It will be stuck like that forever.

Been a lot of fun using this app up until this week. Not excited for these changes.

Response from developer

Hi Mummbles65, thanks for the review, this is genuinely useful feedback, and I'm really glad PointUp has been fun for your family. Good news on both: On rewards, we've removed the minimum on Gold, so you can set a quest's Gold as low as you like (right down to 0) for quick, low-earning tasks. This is already live in our latest update (3.15.0), so updating PointUp will give it to you straight away. XP is the one value we keep managed on purpose: it powers the levelling system your kids share, so it stays tied to a quest's difficulty to keep everyone's progression fair, so pick Easy for the lowest XP, then set the Rewards to match your gold reward distribution following the tooltips. For recurring quests you also spotted a real bug: a rejected recurring quest could get stuck on screen. We've found and fixed that one, and it arrives in our very next update. Thanks for sticking with us through the changes and if anything else ever feels off, email us at support@point-up.co.uk and we'll help you personally.

No

Not great. Crashes repeatedly and won’t work after huge initial time investment creating chores. Save yourself the headache and go with one of the other apps. Devs for Point Up clearly don’t care that it’s buggy.

Response from developer

We read every review, and yours stuck with us. Having the app crash after you'd put real effort into setting up your family's chores is incredibly frustrating, and we're sorry it let you down. We tracked down the exact bug you ran into, and the update fixing it is now live on the Store. PointUp is still growing, and we'd love the chance to make this right. If you're open to giving us another shot with this new update, please do. If anything at all still feels off, drop us an email at support@point-up.co.uk so we can help you personally. Thanks for taking the time to let us know.
