Game crash
Any action taken in this game is a coin flip on whether it crashes or not. And I have an iPhone 15 with the most up to date version of the game.
Fun but could fix a couple things
The biggest issue is the stamina system. You can burn through your stamina in a short amount of time, and then you’re forced to stop playing and wait. If the developers want to limit stamina, they should provide more permanent content that doesn’t require it. Instead, once your stamina is gone, there often isn’t much left to do.
Progression also feels unnecessarily slow. Important upgrade materials are too rare, so leveling your favorite sync pairs often feels like you’re hitting wall after wall. Rather than feeling rewarded for playing, it feels like the game is intentionally dragging out your progress.
On top of that, many parts of the game don’t respect the player’s time. Upgrading characters involves repetitive tapping, some settings don’t stay the way you left them, and there are too many menus and currencies to manage. Something as simple as buying gems or claiming certain rewards can come with unnecessary restrictions and waiting periods instead of just letting players enjoy what they paid for.
The team-building experience can also be frustrating. The Optimize feature doesn’t explain why it chooses certain sync pairs, recommended levels don’t always reflect the actual difficulty of stages, and many battles seem designed to force you to use specific characters instead of the ones you’ve spent time building.
What’s most disappointing is that the core gameplay is genuinely excellent. The battles are strategic, the animations are fantastic, and collecting sync pairs is exciting. But nearly every system surrounding the combat seems designed to slow you down, make you wait, or push you through unnecessary hoops.
Pokémon Masters EX could easily be one of the best Pokémon games on mobile if it focused less on restricting players and more on letting them actually play. Instead, it often feels like the game is fighting against its own fun.
