New Update

I absolutely loved this app but this new format is awful. It’s way more complicated than it needs to be. The timer screen has the seat arrangements and payouts on it, which is not necessary. I lost my voice alerts as well. I really wish I could go back to the previous version. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

Edit: I should have given it a chance before writing a review. I was just shocked how different it was. But after using it for our poker tournament, it’s actually really good. I just need to get used it. There are some changes from the old version that I really like too. Like the timer pause after each blind.

Response from developer

Thank you, and I'm glad it worked out once you ran a tournament on it. The pause after each blind is a favorite of mine too. The voice alerts are all on the Alerts screen, ready to set up however you like.

I’m excited about the new update!

Our monthly group had been using Poker Timer Pro since 2022. As we kept playing together we got more curious about analytics and how we’re performing. I’d send the log files to those that were curious.

While sending the log history, I was surprised to see a new update (5.0.16). I upgraded, curious about what was in the new version.

The stats detailing ROI and leaderboards are very interesting. One challenge emerged though: the player records weren’t syncing up with my logs.

Ron was INCREDIBLY helpful with taking my input and finding the issue. 5.0.17 promises to be an exciting change from last month.

Thank you, and thank you for the input along the way. Glad the ROI and leaderboards are proving interesting to the group after all those years of logs.

Response from developer

I’m sorry. Both of those are fixable. Seating and payouts are separate views rather than fixtures on the countdown: tap the display settings icon (Show…) and choose Current level, and the same menu has Show/hide tables if it’s the small table diagrams you mean. Voice alerts are still there under Alerts, and can be reset to defaults or copied in from another tournament. Alerts you customized in the old app don’t carry across, which may be what happened to yours. Email support@pokerclubhq.com and I’ll help you get your setup back: https://pokerclubhq.github.io/info/

New update is more complicated

I’ve had the previous version for 5 years. This new update is a MAJOR change. It took a little getting used to. I found some bugs and they were immediately fixed. I run a monthly tournament with 24 players. This app has everything you need. I do wish there was some simplification efforts. A lot of bells and whistles means complexity. For the average user it may take a week to figure out. But the basics remain. I will say that the developer actually replies to you which is refreshing. Highly suggested.

Thank you, this is a generous review given how much changed under you. You’re right that there’s a lot in there now, and simplification is the most common theme in the feedback since the rewrite shipped. I’m listening to it. If there are particular screens where the options get in your way, send them to support@pokerclubhq.com and I’ll look at each one. Glad the monthly 24-player game is running well.

Great App

First thank you for grandfathering in Poker Timer Pro purchasers, class move! Love the new interface and the remote works much better with near-zero lag. There does seem to be an issue with the TTS speech text box not committing changes, but I'm sure that will be fixed soon. Great app, it really makes ou Monday night tournament feel a little more 'Pro'. One suggestion for a feature - we usually have music playing during our games and a way to control that from the app would be great!

Response from developer

Thank you, and grandfathering the Pro purchases was never really in question. On the text-to-speech box not committing your changes: 5.0.13 went out the day after you wrote this and includes fixes to alert editing. If you’re on it and still seeing the problem, email support@pokerclubhq.com with what you typed and where, and I’ll get it reproduced. The music control idea is noted. Glad the remote is working for you.

Best app ever

Great poker timer app, updates are incredible. Sync multiple devices, in depth customization options, upload pics of your own chips and players, custom payouts, the options are endless. Great work!

Response from developer

Thank you, this made my week. Glad the chip and player photos are getting used, and thanks for taking the time to write it.

Hate The Update

I absolutely hate this new update. Lost most of the functions I had in place. It was so easy to setup a tournament and make changes as needed. This new update, you have to be a program delevoper to make even the simplest change.

Absolute best

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the absolute best poker timer I’ve ever used. Everything is customizable (and I mean everything). And the remote feature has to be the coolest thing I’ve seen. Set up the poker timer on an iPad on the wall and you can pause it and otherwise control it from your phone. I cannot praise this app enough.

Simple to use yet very robust

Great app just luv easy functionality and great!

Great App

I just bought an HDMI transmitter set up with three receivers so I can display the current blind levels , remaining durations, etc. on three TVs during home tournaments. This app works great for that purpose and was relatively easy to set up , including custom blind levels. Kudos to the developer(s). 😀

Grooveeeeeeeeh

Excellent timer for home game tournaments, even handles stuff like randomizing player positions at tables. Highly recommended

Has it all

Could not be more impressed with all the use cases this app takes on when managing a home game. Wish list features: AppleTV Support (not through screen share)

MTZ Poker group

We enjoy the app. We now are not guess at what blinds need to be.

Great app, easy to use

Made managing a home game easy, but I could see even using it for a full tournament! Would recommend!

App crashes

I used this app for years in my poker league. I paid for the full version and it was great. However, it will no longer stay open on my phone or iPad. It opens, then immediately disappears. Very frustrating, since it used to work perfectly.

Poker Tournament Timer

Great App includes everything needed for a poker tournament. In feature I could not find in the app was when players chop otherwise awesome spp

Love this app

I’ve been using this app for years. We use it at the Eagles where we play poker twice a week. I love how you can customize everything.
