Ok

Good idea. However it is hard to understand what to do sometimes as the language used to help is strange

Response from developer

Honestly, thank you. "The language used to help is strange" is the most useful thing anyone has told me this month. You are right: the hints name poker concepts instead of telling you what to do next. I just rewrote a bunch of that wording and it lands in the next update, which also adds a flag icon next to glossary terms. Tap it on anything that reads badly and I will fix it myself.

Great Strategy

I have been playing online Holdem tournaments and wasn’t improving. I spent a couple hours on this app and placed 2nd on the next tournament! I won 30 times my buy-in. The app taught me a whole new strategy that just kept working.

Response from developer

Second place and 30x your buy-in after a couple of hours in the app is an incredible result. Strategy that keeps working under real tournament pressure is exactly what we want the lessons to build. Congrats on the finish, and good luck in the next one!

Great!

Best app for quick learning!

Great premise, execution could be improved

I love the idea of the app, but there are a few things that I think could do with improvement. The idea of a poker app similar to Duolingo is genuinely great, I downloaded it literally the first ad I saw for it, and the lessons genuinely are informative. I’m not a poker pro so I can’t exactly speak on the entire validity of the strategies presented in the app but in the online micro stakes games I’ve played these do work. However, there are a few things I think could be improved. For one, I think that being required to finish every lesson prior to the next mixed with the energy system just makes it kind of miserable for anyone choosing to use the free version of the app (especially if you did not pick the correct level), but I do understand that it pushes people to want to try the plus version so it makes sense. I think that doing away with one of these things for free users would retain a lot more people. Also just a little nitpicky but personally I find the speed at which the text shows up in a lesson is kind of annoying with how slow it is. Would be perfect if there was a setting where you could change the speed of the animation or disable the animation entirely and just have the text pop up.

Response from developer

Love that you gave us a shot off the first ad and that the lessons are holding up in real micro stakes games. Two tips that should help: you can test forward to skip past lessons you already know (big if you picked the wrong starting level), and tapping while the text is typing makes it appear instantly. The energy system feedback on free is fair and it's with the team. Keep building those skills.
