So effective and such a fresh take on study apps!! (Procrastinator approved 👍)

Started using Pomotomo for the past few weeks cause my friend recommended it to me and its genuinely so effective. Just like other study apps it has a built in timer with breaks to lock in on tasks. I love how it has “stacks” which are basically folders you can organize your sessions into and “focuses” which help categorize your sessions even further by describing what exactly your prioritizing. (Ex: Homework, Focus: Algebra II)

Its honestly not just a study app. I use it to log gym sessions, journaling sessions, and will even get around to creating focus times to get chores done lol.

But thats not even the best part tbh. What makes this so effective honestly is the social aspect. You can join channels with others doing the same task (ex. Homework) and see their timers going. It really incentivize you to lock in because other people are. Just like the same logic as to why people like to study at cafes, because seeing others focus motivates yourself to do the same. And the most effective part for me is after you complete a session, you can post a recap of it to a social timeline and even include photos if you like. I like to share what i worked on and my goals and posting it for my friends to see makes it feel real. I feel more accountable to actually getting stuff done because I also don’t want my friends to see I’m slacking lol.

Overall, just so great! If there were any notes, I wish the app also had an app blocker feature so that you can’t go on other platforms during your study session. But other than that, I really think this is the future of study and social, especially if you’re a procrastinator (like myself lol) and need pressure to get going!

Amazing Study App

I’m currently studying for my CPA exam and this app has helped me lock in. I feel extremely productive, and I like how I can see what other people are studying/doing.

FAQ

What is PomoTomo?

PomoTomo is a social productivity app that uses the Pomodoro technique and the concept of 'body doubling' to help users focus and beat procrastination. It allows users to work alongside others in real-time channels and share their progress.

How does PomoTomo use the Pomodoro technique?

PomoTomo integrates the Pomodoro technique by structuring work sessions into timed intervals. These sessions are then highlighted in posts, encouraging users to break down larger tasks into manageable, bite-sized pieces.

Can I use PomoTomo offline?

Yes, PomoTomo works offline. Once you have logged in, you can start a timer and save your sessions without an internet connection. This is useful if you are in a location with unreliable Wi-Fi.

What kind of content can I share on PomoTomo?

You can create 'focus sessions' which are posts made after your timer ends. These can include photos and captions, allowing you to document your progress as you work. This encourages sharing your journey, not just the final result.

How does PomoTomo help with procrastination?

PomoTomo combats procrastination by leveraging social accountability and the Pomodoro technique. The real-time presence of others in channels and the structured work intervals make it easier to start and maintain focus on tasks.

What are 'focuses' and 'stacks' in PomoTomo?

'Focuses' represent the general skills or hobbies you are working on, tracked on an analytics page. 'Stacks' are folders within your profile where you can save your completed work and progress over time.
