Love PCJ, TERRIBLE app
PCJ is my favorite cafe but this second iteration of the store app is somehow just as bad as the last one. It is completely unintuitive, takes multiple screens to make simple orders of one item. It frequently logs you out for no reason then logging back in is difficult because the site they use (I’m assuming for back end web hosting) doesn’t match the name of the app so password managers can’t match the password to the app.

Expedite checkout
Too difficult to check out and pay. I thought it might be easier on the app so I downloaded it versus trying on the website. Any other restaurant I order online I don’t need to provide billing information.
Horrible App.
Every single time I have tried to utilize the app I have encountered problems.
The app can be clunky
I love being able to order and pay ahead, but sometimes the app is not working, or it’s not working well and you can’t order at the window and pay on the app anymore with the new app. With technology today that shouldn’t be so hard.
Change in menu
I have always loved Port City Java and visit almost every day. However, I was disappointed to find that they recently changed their menu, removing the Impossible sausage on an English muffin. As a vegan, this option was very important to me. Even with customizing their current sandwiches, I end up paying more, despite removing items. Regrettably, I will need to find another place to go.

Everyone is so friendly & happy to help! And the coffee is yummm.
New app missing options.
Took away the option to order and pay at window with app. Now have to order ahead. Food is either not ready or cold when you arrive.
New app refresh
I hate that they took away the option to pay through your phone. You now have to give the cashier your phone number each time and use your card. Horrible update. I have no plans to keep using it unfortunately.
App doesn’t work
You can’t click any options on the screen. The screen just bounces up and down. Have deleted and redownloaded the app several times, same issue. Wife downloaded the app, same exact issue. Completely useless app.
The Tip Feature is terrible
The tip feature is terrible. It will not let me go back to update and makes it easy to miss when placing an order.
Delicious and convenient
I went into the store on front street in Wilmington NC this morning after running an errand to get medicine. For the first time I tried the English muffin sandwich, not knowing I had to add the meat, so I ended up with a egg and cheese sandwich, which is fine with me. But overall, it was a seamless experience. The sandwich was delicious and I can’t get enough of the blueberry wave smoothie. Mmm mmm too good! Will definitely be back for more port city Java, you can count on it!!!

New update
I’m highly upset that they changed the manual input for tips. Now you can only put up to a 20% tip in for the workers. I work for tips myself and I always take care of my people who take care of me. PCJ owner/operator please change this in the app back to manual input for tips or raise the percentage higher than 20.

Rewards
I never get the slips so it’s impossible to fix the forgotten times I’ve done it I’m dealing with a very ill wife and we stop and get smoothies every day and you wouldn’t even give me $2.50 rewards credit when I spend a great deal of money so I don’t have a greater regard for your rewards program
