About

Practise harbour manoeuvres under engine before you do them for real. Port Skipper is a realistic docking simulator for cruising sailboats. Bring your boat into a berth, come alongside, back into a slot or leave the marina with wind, gusts, current and prop walk acting exactly as they do on a real boat. Every boat reacts to the throttle, the helm and the wind as it would at sea. REAL HARBOURS Eleven real marinas rebuilt from map data, with their pontoons, quays and moored boats: La Rochelle (Les Minimes), Marseille (Vieux-Port), Poros (Greece), Enkhuizen (Netherlands), Sandhamn (Sweden), Split (Croatia), Palma (Mallorca), Lavagna (Italy), Vilamoura (Portugal), Kiel-Schilksee (Germany) and Msida (Malta). EVERY WAY OF MOORING Finger pontoons, lazy lines (Mediterranean mooring), stern-to on your own anchor, between piles, bow-to with a stern buoy, alongside. Each harbour follows its local practice: bow in on the Atlantic, stern-to in the Mediterranean. A FLEET OF 7 BOATS From a 23-foot day-boat with a tiller to a 45-foot cruiser with twin rudders, through a classic long-keeler. Saildrive or shaft drive, single or twin rudder: each boat has its own character, turning circle and prop walk. THE PHYSICS THAT MATTER IN A HARBOUR Prop walk in reverse, windage that pushes the bow off, carrying way, the rudder that only bites with water flowing past it, gusts you can see coming on the water. The model is built from naval-architecture literature, not arcade tuning. TWO WAYS TO PLAY • Levels: 22 manoeuvres of increasing difficulty, from a calm empty marina to a strong crosswind between two boats. Earn up to three stars. • Free mode: pick the harbour, the boat, the berth and the weather, morning to night. LEARN FROM EVERY ATTEMPT After each manoeuvre you see your track from above, your contacts, your centring and a tip. Missed it? Retry right next to the berth. DESIGNED FOR THE PHONE Wheel or tiller and a single throttle lever with neutral detent, crew buttons for the lines, a VHF call from the harbour master, haptics and real harbour sounds. Progress syncs with iCloud. Achievements in Game Center. English, French, Spanish and Italian. Port Skipper does not replace training on the water, but it lets you rehearse the moves, understand why the boat behaves as it does and arrive at the pontoon with a plan.
