FAQ

What does the Postal Vote BD app do?

The Postal Vote BD app is the official mobile application developed by the Bangladesh Election Commission. It allows eligible voters to enroll, track the delivery of their postal ballot papers, and verify their cast votes. While voting is done manually on paper, the app facilitates the entire process from registration to verification.

How do I enroll and register using the app?

To enroll, you need a registered mobile number to create a secure profile. The app then guides you through a secure eKYC process, including facial verification with liveness detection to confirm your identity. You can also optionally provide passport details and your postal address for receiving the ballot.

Is there a cost to use the Postal Vote BD app?

No, the Postal Vote BD app is completely free to use. It is an official service provided by the Bangladesh Election Commission to facilitate postal voting for eligible citizens.

Who is eligible to use the Postal Vote BD app?

The app is intended for eligible Bangladeshi voters, including those living abroad, government officials on duty, members of law enforcement agencies, electoral officials, and other voters as per the Bangladesh Election Commission's guidelines.

How do I track my ballot paper and verify my vote?

Once registered, a ballot paper will be sent to your registered postal address. You can track its delivery status within the app. After receiving the ballot, you will scan a QR code on the envelope using the app, complete a liveness check, cast your vote on the paper ballot, and then return the envelope to your designated constituency.
