Great App - can’t quit for you

This app is great, really easy way to track your intake if you’re trying to quit, but you have to be willing to quit.

Fake Free Ad

Downloaded thinking there was a portion of this app for free but upon signing in I quickly found that you get 3 days for free then it cost $3-6 a month to use.

Response from developer

Fair feedback on the trial being short. Straight up: Pouch Buddy is a paid app. We keep the price low, and without charging we couldn't develop and support it - servers, sync, new features all cost real money. No ads, no selling your data. The subscription is what keeps it alive. - Gary

Thank You

This has changed things drastically for me.

It won't let you delete the app

Beyond painful. I downloaded the app to check it out and now I need to 'send an email' to delete the app. What is this. Just let me delete the app.

Pay to quit zyns?

Thought this app had good intentions to help you quit. Turns out they want you to buy a plan just to quit. They dont care about your well being they care about money

Response from developer

We're a tiny team, and the small subscription is genuinely the only thing funding development, servers and support - there's no ads and no selling your data behind the scenes. We'd rather charge a low price honestly than pretend it's free. Hope the quit goes well either way. - Gary

Janky app but is useful and has potential to be better

The app is janky af, but I like it enough to keep using it. It’s helpful to look at my usage data on the various graphs, specifying the mg and brand of pouch, adding friends, and the quit plan. I’m amazed that there are literally zero notification preference settings in the app lol. When I go to settings in the app there are none, besides the ability to change your name—this app could be improved in many ways. I’ve submitted feedback but I’ve never heard anything back from the developers so I have to wonder if this thing is dead in the water or if it’s actively being improved/developed further. Would love to see the improvements I’ve shared with the devs or at least know they’re trying to improve this thing! Good job on what you have so far tho👍

Response from developer

You've been heard - since your review we shipped notification preferences (Profile > Settings), fixed the laggy track button, and support actually replies now, usually within a day. Would love to hear what else is on your list: hello@pouchbuddy.app. - Gary

Fine

The track button lags.

Response from developer

Fixed - the track button got a serious performance pass and should be instant now. Update and give it another go. - Gary

Just what I was looking for

So glad someone finally made this. It’s like a budget for your hits so they don’t start getting out of hand. I was using way more than I thought and not only was it costing me more money, but I can now see the health impacts it was having on my workouts, sleep, and mood. One enhancement recommendation: being able to set a schedule for the day and that notifies you when you’re able to take another pouch. For instance, if I want to limit myself to 5 a day, let me set a schedule to alert every 3.5 hours or so I keep usage consistent and don’t end up over using at the end of the day cuz I used up my allotment too early. Just a suggestion. Love this app!

Track other ingredients

I like how it keeps track of the mg consumed, they should also track the amount of other ingredients. For example Zyn uses Ace K for the sweetener.

Forced subscription

Bait and switch being labeled as “free with in-app purchases” because you cannot use the app without selecting a subscription plan. Not to mention it makes you put in all sorts of information before it breaks the news to you.

Response from developer

Sorry it felt like a bait and switch - not the intent. Pouch Buddy is a paid app with a trial, and we keep the price as low as we can. Without charging we couldn't develop and support it at all - no ads, no selling your data, the subscription is the whole model. - Gary

Pay to track?

Why would I pay $5 for a week, $10 for a month, or $30 for a year when I can just count my pouches myself?

Response from developer

Fair question. If a tally works for you, awesome. What the subscription pays for is the taper plan, streaks, charts and reminders that actually get people to quit - plus the servers keeping it synced. We keep the price low; without charging we couldn't build or support any of it. - Gary

No free version

This app forces you to pay for it. Good app, scummy practice to get you to pay.

Must-Have App for Quitting Nicotine Pouches!

Pouch Buddy has been a game-changer in my journey to quit nicotine pouches. The progress tracking keeps me motivated, and the app makes it easy to stay accountable. It’s simple, intuitive, and does exactly what you need—no unnecessary distractions, just a solid tool to help you quit for good.

If you’re looking for support to finally break the habit, this is the app for you. Highly recommend! Five stars!

Trying to get you to quit

App has great intentions and seems to have great features. I wouldn’t know much about the features because it’s locked behind a subscription. When you open the app for the first time you take a survey and one of the questions is “how much do you spend a month on zyn” or something like that. It then proceeds to make your “plan” and the plan labels financials for you and some other things. I just thought that it was funny that they’re trying to save you money and then make you pay for a subscription to quit using pouches.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. We understand the irony in our subscription. Our current customers save much more than subscription price in a few months by understanding their habit, and controlling their choices. We think you should start the trial and check out the features so many are using.

Great nicotine tracking app: love the widget

The widget is top tier for keeping track of my nicotine usage

Response from developer

Really glad you like the widget!

Scam

This is basically a scam. You can’t use the app until you subscribe; it says you get a free trial in the app, but then charged me for a year subscription when I tried to accept the free trial.

The app itself doesn’t do anything, it’s literally just a counter

Response from developer

Hey thank you for the review! You were offered our lowest price, and unfortunately, as stated, it does not come with a free trial. We have also been adding many features that I think you will like. Give them a try!

Needed this app

Got into a habit of pouches earlier morning, all day, and before bed. Tracking helped me get to a few a day and less mouth pain. Going to try and quit completely. Wish me luck lol.

Helped Me Quit for Good

Got it!I’d been Zynning for over 6 years, and with the New Year approaching, I wanted to quit. Pouch Buddy made it possible. Seeing how much I was spending every month and tracking my savings progress gave me the motivation I needed. The habit tracker and reminders kept me accountable, and now I’m Zyn-free. If you’re trying to quit a habit, this app is a game-changer!
