Best trainer I have used.

I have tried a few apps for training and this is the best so far. I have been using this app for the last 4 years and haven’t had a problem with it. The app works well with a clear easy to read app face. All you have to do while you are riding is keep your wattage marker in the zone that is shown for that interval. The other thing I like is that it speaks to you when to start and stop the interval so you don’t have to watch the phone screen while you are doing your interval. This has been the problem with other apps that I have tried you have to watch the screen all the time.
The one improvement that would make this the best training app is if you could make your own intervals. You used to be able to get personal training plans but I can’t see how to do this now so may be they have cancelled that part.

A pain in the ass to use while riding

The Powerhouse app is a pain in the ass to use. Part of the problem is that it requires navigation through several screens just to pair the PowerPod, and each screen can only be accessed by app buttons in the CORNERS of the screen. Most lightweight phone straps for bike use secure the phone in the corners, so the straps have to be pushed out of the way and then reset each time. (Pairing before putting the phone on the bike is too risky, because in setting the straps you risk turning off the screen, and then having to start over again.) Whoever designed the app did not take into account how most people use phones on a bike. A rigid phone cradle/clamp is a weight penalty I’m not willing to make.
If you take break for more than five minutes, the app disconnects from the PowerPod, and you have to end the ride, re-pair as described above, and start a new ride. There is no way to re-pair a disconnected PowerPod in the middle of the ride. And if you accidentally hit the DONE button on the lower lefthand corner, your ride ends immediately. There is no screen asking you if you really want to end the ride.
The Powerhouse app does not display elapsed time in a useable way. First, it is in tiny type that no one under 45 can read without reading glasses, and certainly not while riding. Second, it is in the upper right corner of the screen - under a rubber strap that holds my phone to the bike. Third, it only displays total elapsed time, not time on the bike. I would pay for an app that put actual riding time on the display where I could see it.
The Powerhouse app does not display heart rate. I know about the arguments that real racers do not need to see it. But, I’m over 65 and I want it.

Confusing App. I connected it to my BLE PowerPod and tried to set up a profile. I think I was successful it each time you “save” it crashes so a little confusing.

The App looks like it could offer interesting data but using A Garmin head unit during ride I didn’t see much use for the data during rides but early days.

Post ride the data seems more useful but it is less than what you get on Velocomp’s Isaac software (which by the way doesn’t install properly on Mojave as the instructions are from the High Sierra days).

All in all it seems like Velocomp are reluctant iOS and Mac supporters. Neither work brilliantly nor are they particularly intuitive. It is a real shame as the data seems interesting and perhaps useful but you end up giving up as it’s just a little too hard to get to it - probably much like Velocomp who produce a brilliant power meter but gave up on all things Apple!

Not fully functioning

I received the powerpod and set it up and used it twice. App now works fine as it will not work unless connected to the powerpod which is the issue I had with the app back in December as per my last comment on 26th December. The main issues I have no is the distance, calories and power indicator do not work. The power brackets move as per the target set in the workout but the actual power pointer moves to maximum and stays there and no average power is shown either. I hope these are something that can be fixed and if so this thing is golden. All the rest of the indications work perfectly fine. Current power, speed, cadence etc. So hopefully someone can tell me how to solve these few glitches. Thank you.

Don’t bother

Downloaded the app. Decided to try one of the in app purchases it happen to be free so it didn’t cost me anything thankfully. Each time I tried to customize it the app abnormally ends don’t bother doesn’t work

Only power No GPS

Please note this only shows power if you want to integrate GPS using only a smart phone you have to purchase an additional app ($1.50) and then within the app purchase a key ($20). Then you have to run 2 simultaneous app while cycling. All a bit complicated and surprise hidden costs.Should keep it simple even if it is a higher upfront costs. Just put it all together in one app with power and gps

Crashes

Quite simply doesn’t work. Crashes instantly. Deleted and reinstalled but same behaviour.

Crashes

Didn’t even get me through the basic setup stage!

Crashing

Keeps Crashing

Keeps crashing!

Clearly not compatible with iPhone 6S. Managed to open it but was unable to change the rider profile. Once connected to the powerpod, it crashes as soon as the app is opened

Good app needs additions

This app has a lot going for it. What needs improvement are heart rate and the ability to share with more cycling apps such as MapMyRide and RideWithGPS. HR is the priority the sharing would be helpful.
