Predictable

Predictable

I suffered a head injury 🤕 nearly 30 years ago & this has badly affected my speech. Fortunately Predictable was created shortly afterwards by Therapy Box & I have used it since this time.

It is relatively easy to operate & if you get stuck then there is a Team who will always assist you if they can.

With technology improving over the years & if you know you are going to lose your ability to speak well, you can now record your voice to use when you need it.

But one of the pluses for me is that the voice I use is ‘Kate’ & she sounds English. You have the choice of voices, male & female & accents too from most countries & none of them sound like Stephen Hawking’s synthetic voice.

So if you have a speech impairment now or in the future, don’t despair because you will still be able to communicate with people if you have Predictable.

Awesome app

BiggMike here, as a professional content creator, digital designer for years, this is the tool I must have. I’ve been battling ALS since 2012. I can no longer walk, talk, use my hands or even breathe on my own.

This tool is my one and only tool to communicate with the world. You can even download your voice banking software. It has everything I need to easily communicate.

What a perfect app.

We are sorry that you find the app to be too expensive. We try to be as affordable as possible and have kept the app at the same rate for many years and have provided free updates each time since launching in 2011.

Often have glitches and app crashes. Otherwise works fine

Predictable

This is THE BEST APP for communication. My disability stole my ability to speak. As a result, I rely heavily on my Predictable App. Yes. Of course, I still wish my voice would return. But, until that miracle happens, this app is the next best thing to my real voice. I really appreciate the people who created Predictable. Thank you so very much.

Great app

I am a speech pathologist working with adults and this app has given a voice to many people I have had the privilege of working with. The app is seamlessly streamlined with voice preservation services allowing you to very easily download your synthetic voice. It is very easy to customise and create your own customised phrases and layout and very easy to message bank on. It is a great text to speech app! The app is on the rare occasion buggy but the TherapyBox team are very quick to respond and help troubleshoot errors. I highly recommend this app

Absolute must for anybody with a speech problem.

I have recently been diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) which amongst other things affects my vocal chords. To put it simply I am unable to speak coherently & I found it frequently frustrating to make myself understood. Luckily my Voice therapist told me about this app (Predictable) she said if I contacted The Therapy Box they would most likely give me a free trial. Which I did & they very kindly gave me a 77 day trial through the Test Flight app. It didn’t take me long to realise that I didn’t need 77 days to find out that I neede Predictable in my life. It truly has been a godsend ,to say it has transformed my life now would be an understatement. I now don’t have to worry that I won’t be understood all I have to do now as soon as someone can’t make out a word I have said I just type it in the app & the app utters it aloud. That’s not all you can even choose the gender & even pick the accent of the voice you want to use. It’s an amazing app,I still haven’t scratched the surface with all the app îs capeable of yet. But for me the best part is that you save phrases that you use often in your favourites section so they can be accessed in a jiffy.

I used this many a time due to having surgery and my voice was damaged from a nasal gastric tube. It was a life saviour as finally I had a voice. I say even helped when I was at the shops I just had to type they had to read or listen.

DOESN’T ALLOW USERS IN - PLEASE FIX PASSWORD ISSUE

Predictable is a fantastic app, and has become a really essential tool. Somehow, the current version doesn’t allow users in. No luck asking for a link to reset your password either. The app, as well as the website will tell you it has successfully sent an email, but nothing arrives.

Why why why? Such an easy fix. Your paid users have to use the app in “Guest Mode.” Honestly, it’s almost cruel to have an app that’s so good that users have come to depend on it, and then somehow let a glitch lock them out. There are other reviews here that also seem to be struggling with password issues.

Please fix this.

Good App

I’ve got this on work and personal devices and it works really well with my Acapela generated voice. One irritation is I can copy and paste into Predictable on one device but not the other? Both are iPads

Suggestions for upgrades

Hey, loving the app for my son but a few suggestions for improvements:

- add child’s voices (eg: Liam Australian boy)
- edit size of message window in grid view and adjust font size of message window
- be able to edit the colour of font or background of an individual cell rather than all of the phrases altogether
- be able to
Edit each individual cell to determine if it speaks when touched or automatically.

Thanks for the suggestions Meg. It is possible to adjust the size of the message window and font size for the message window by going to Theme >Colour & font size > grid layout. The other points I will add to our feature request list :)

Was amazing until now

So I love this app, it’s amazing and so helpful to me! I like the last version better though. It was simpler.
