My Go-To-Guide for all things birth & baby!

I found out about the PregPod through being a dedicated weekly listener to (free) 40 Weeks, where I caught updates on my baby’s growth while pregnant. When Vanessa plugged the PregPod into 40Weeks, it wasn’t too far a twist to get me locked in as a premium member and it’s been my best resource for a reliable aggregate of data-backed research for all things related to birth and baby.

When I was preparing my birth plan, I emailed Vanessa (yes, she invites this in her podcast!) and she very kindly shared birth plan, which helped me identify which episodes to tune into (based on items in her plan) and ultimately helped me craft my own. Because of this, I felt unpowered and well-informed to make the best choices for my birth and had a really positive unmedicated natural birth experience only 2.5 months ago as a result (despite my baby surprising us 6 weeks early!). Fast forward to 2 month vax appointment and I felt overwhelmed with the number of vaccines we were anticipating. Again, I turned to PregPod, took notes while listening and later on dug into some of the resources listed in the show notes, which are all CDC articles, white papers and links to vaccine company documentation/ingredient lists - not simple google search links, but really reliable sources. This helped my husband and I yet again make really informed choices related to our baby’s vax intake and show up with relevant questions at our pediatrician visit.

Overall this podcast is a 100 out of 10. Vanessa had done the research and shared it all. Her message delivery is unbiased, like a true researcher, and will appeal to any mama-to-be, new mamas or time-over mamas. It’s been my best go-to-guide for birth and baby (40 weeks felt enough for Pregnancy) and has saved sooo much of my time since I trust her work is well-researched. It’s the best “1-pager” digest in audible form, and even provides links for those who prefer to dig deeper to get moving without having to search for things themselves. Vanessa herself is so approachable, so kind and reliable and her passion for this work shines extra bright. Thank you, Vanessa, for all your hard work and for making my life as a new mom that much easier and stress-free. a

Love this podcast

This has been the very most helpful pregnancy resource I’ve found.

As someone in the medical field, evidence-based information is essential to the important choices in my life. Vanessa does an incredible job researching topics and giving a balanced view of what the literature says.

I will be recommending this to any and all my pregnant friends.

Best way to get informed!

I love this podcast and binge-listened all through my first trimester and by second trimester, I was confident in making more important decisions about my care and ultimately about my baby’s birth. I feel more empowered and I sooooo appreciate all the research she does. The evidence based information helps put me to ease knowing I am getting as full of a picture as I can. I also really appreciate the episodes with interviews with various experts. She is a wonderful interviewer and host. You can really tell that this all came from heart and from the journey through her own experiences and a heartfelt desire to reach out and help others. I can not recommend this podcast enough for any momma to be who is looking to become informed and empowered.

So convenient and easy to use!

I’ve been listening to The Pregnancy Podcast for a long time (haven’t quite decided on babies yet, but listening has been incredibly educational!) I’m stoked there is now an app just for this podcast - it’s so user friendly and makes listening to episodes and engaging with the show super simple! Such a great resource; thank you, Vanessa!!
