Notifications uncustomizable
Max time for a notification is 14 hours before a lesson which is useless when the lesson is at 6pm. I don’t check notifications at night but. So I end up losing lessons
Do not trust! Very very bad payment policies!
They are more interested in charging than anything else! I took just one lesson and the rest didn’t work out cos it was all over the place! I asked for refund for lessons not taken but they refused. Also, be careful about auto renewal! Whatever you do, please do not use this app! Horrible! Horrific! Horrendous!

Bad policy
The app works relatively well, I disagree with the fact that if for any reason such is an emergency you are not in the class on time you loose the money. You have to cancel or reschedule it 12 hours before, unless the tutor offers you an external solution. Bad policy on the platform.

Marek is an excellent teacher and certainly he was one of the best English teachers I had. Strongly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning speaking and writing skills. He helped me a lot to reach band 8 in the IELTS test .

I really like Preply I rated Preply a 4/5 stars only because I don’t really like how if you cancel less than 12 hours ahead you don’t get refunded. I mean what if u felt sick or came home from school understanding the topic and don’t need help so u don’t need to spend money on a class. I just think it should be like an hour or 2 instead of 12 other than that it’s a really great app!

Giusy has been an absolutely amazing Spanish teacher. From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and explained everything in a simple, clear, and engaging way. She is patient, kind, and always attentive to her students’ individual needs. You can really see how passionate she is about teaching and how much she genuinely cares about her students’ progress. Thanks to her, I feel much more confident and motivated to improve my Spanish. Preply app in Brazil
The app is good enough, with actual reliable tutors and the payment is safe. I found two very good, patient and kind teachers of korean and japanese. But sometimes when my internet crashes while I am trying to write a message to my tutor, or for some other unknown reason, Preply simply deletes the audio or message I was writing or even the last audio I had already sent, and that’s frustrating. Also, the Brazilian app version doesn’t have the advertised practice part of the app for revision of vocabulary, and I’d appreciate it if that functionality was included in the app here in Brazil. Otherwise, this 1 on 1 tutoring method has helped me to gain real motivation and actual progress in the language I am studying, thus boosting my confidence and my international communication skills using English as an intermediate language to learn other languages. The app even includes other subjects such as Ancient Greek, AI, Game Development, etc for you to study, because there are tutors for a very big range of subjects and learning skills. Congratulations on a very complete app! I hope it gets better and better and I am rooting for the tutors to actually be able to live from their income on the app, for them to be trained to be considerate and patient as teachers, and for the developmental team behind this learning app to thrive a lot! ⭐ 1 Star — Extremely Unprofessional Experience with Boubacar D. on Preply
I joined Preply with the genuine intention of learning French and booked a class with tutor Boubacar D. Unfortunately, what happened was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, completely unprofessional.
The class was cancelled at the last minute, after I had already made time in my schedule for the lesson. When I questioned the cancellation, I was told that the student had requested it. I did not request the cancellation, so this explanation was very frustrating and unacceptable.
As a student, I expect a tutor to be honest, reliable, and respectful of my time. If a tutor cannot attend a scheduled class, the minimum expectation is clear and truthful communication—not blaming the student for something they did not request.
This experience made me question the professionalism and reliability of this tutor. Students are paying for a service and investing their valuable time into learning. Last-minute cancellations and misleading explanations should not be treated as acceptable.
Preply should seriously review this kind of behaviour and hold tutors accountable for respecting students and their schedules. I joined the platform to learn French, not to deal with unnecessary cancellations and explanations that do not match what actually happened.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Boubacar D. to other students. I hope Preply takes this feedback seriously and ensures that students receive the professional service they are paying for.

Its great app to learn french with experience tutor .
subscription based—SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR ELSEWHERE.
While the tutors are affordable and talented, the app is based off of a subscription. You have to subscribe to a tutor to have lessons. If you have too many lessons, they expire within 28 days, or you have to use this complex workaround system where you are constantly scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling your lessons for later dates so that you don’t waste your money. This is very unfortunate for you, and for your tutor, as it makes their schedule more variable and complex and breaks trust. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Find something else that is affordable, easier, and more relational.

Very disappointing to find out that tutors are not paid for any trial classes even though students pay. Also, students can cancel minutes before a trial begins, so preparation time is wasted and not compensated for by Preply. So far, I’m not impressed.
