I really love this app—I truly do! I've got the lifetime pro version (RIP AppAdvice), but there's one thing that bugs me every time I open it. The app keeps notifying me that notifications aren't enabled. Umm, yeah, obviously! If I wanted them on, I'd have them on, and I don't need a reminder just to pronounce words correctly. It's frustrating because when I use the app, I'm in the middle of a conversation, trying to say a word correctly, and then everything pauses due to a pop-up. It makes me think something's wrong, and I have to close it to continue. I hate that. If this issue wasn't there, I'd definitely give it 5 stars.

Terrible
I never would have purchased this app with default only English words and pronunciation and no other languages available. That was the whole point in buying this app. Since I know apps can be updated, please update this app to allow other languages to be selected and not just English only. I purchased this app specifically for the pronunciation section of the app, but to use it for Spanish pronunciation. You need to add Spanish and other languages in the pronunciation section of this app so that words and pronunciation can be practiced and analyzed like you did for the default English that is available. Until you update it to include other languages this app is worthless unless you are only looking to use it for English.

Disappointing for learning Spanish
I bought the lifetime membership since it was very affordable before I tried it. I didn’t realize that you can only practice your pronunciation with English. I am learning Spanish and wanted to practice a word and be able to play my voice back to hear how close I am. I thought the app could do that. It only lets me listen to how a Spanish speaker would say the words but not practice my speaking. I must have misunderstood the app. Disappointing

I downloaded this app since I’m currently learning Spanish. I thought this might be a great app to assist me if ever came across words I have a tough time pronouncing, while reading, anyway.
There was an issue I was having with downloading the app at first, so I emailed the developer. They got back to me within AN HOUR with a detailed answer. I woke up to that message, tried downloading the app again, and it worked! You don’t find customer service like this every day, especially with indie apps.
On to the app. I really like that the app lets you type words/phrases in a multitude of languages. For example, I’m learning Spanish. I can type in a word/phrase and the app will pronounce it correctly for me. In addition, it keeps a history of your words so you can always go back to them. It’s very user-friendly, meaning that it is simple, cut-and-dry, no hassle.
I love giving apps like this a try, and I’m happy I did with this one. It’s a great app, but what really won me over is the customer service. Speedy, detailed, friendly, and super helpful. Kudos to the developer for the great app and being great people!

pronunciation trainer is for English US only
Good idea and the voice generator is decent. However the pronunciation trainer is for English US only.
bad pronounciation in my own language
tested the quality in german - eu or ä, ie, etc. is pronounced so badly, i would not like to learn from this.

Hello dear, the lifetime free offer was only available during 48 hours, and the app was completely on a free access from 22 to 23 November.
Recording feedback is extremely faulty
Caution to English learners: The feedback for the users' pronunciation recording does not function correctly. Words pronounced with completely incorrect emphasis (such as aNIM'l for AnimAL) and words prounounced with a long vowel when it should be a short vowel and vice vera (such as SKEEN for skin or TRAN for train) are all declared correctly pronounced by the AI in the app.
I cannot speak for the other languages; perhaps they are more accurate, though it's unlikely. As of Nov 22/24, the voice evaluation aspect of the app is nearly useless, not to mention dangerous, as it could lead the learner to repeatedly practice saying a ton of words wrongly!
This IS likely to improve with advances in AI though, so it may be worth checking back on later.
As for the app's pronouncing of words, it uses the very basic computer voice that kind-of says words correctly but just barely so. As a native English speaker who teaches ESL, I even have trouble understanding it somewhat. It's just not a sophisticated voice model. Perhaps the developer will upgrade it though.

You can listen to words being pronounced in a choice of language +ve You can only practice your pronunciation in American English, no other choices -ve Therefore you can practice listening to the pronunciation of Spanish words but you can’t practice speaking them, making the app completely pointless.

Useless
There’s no way to change the default language from English. It doesn’t translate words for you so you have to already know the word in the language that you’re trying to learn and then the voice is very robotic and not at all natural.
