Very good but needs some work
Love this app! Love this service! Have been a paid member going on 3 years.
However the only option to add photos seems to be the automatic backup. However I want to upload select photos. Sometimes I take screenshots to store info and will later delete them and I don’t want that to be added to the photo storage. Otherwise I have to some how get my photos onto a desktop (not easy since I don’t have an apple computer) and then upload select photos from there.
Additionally the app doesn’t allow for bulk selections. Which can make it even more annoying to delete photos that were backed up.
If this app had those two features it would be an immediate 5/5!

Doesn’t Work on an iPad 6th Gen
If you’re looking for a review of Proton products and services, they are in general very great, but this review is just to point out something very specific that doesn’t work for me and I hope they can fix…
I don’t like writing a bad review for a company and group of products that I generally love, but I cannot do anything on Proton Drive on my 6th Gen iPad. (17.7.11).
I cannot create docs, upload files, I couldn’t even sign out of my account, I had to delete the app in order to sign out. It works great on my other older devices, but not my iPad sadly. I would find it very useful and time-saving if it did work.

Virtually no integration
Long-time Proton user - I’m simply trying to open a set of audio files in a media player - I can only “open with” a single file, can’t “open with” multiple files, can’t select all, can’t download the files to the an iPhone folder, can’t download a folder, can’t share the files directly anywhere (only an accessible link), can’t create a ProtonDrive folder that is accessible from outside ProtonDrive - there is so little integration; it’s impossible to use the app for anything beyond accessing individual files or uploading photos.

Can’t edit sheets on mobile
Was really excited to replace Google Drive but editing sheets is desktop only, what the heck???!!!
Does not delete photos removed from my phone
Stupidity does not delete photos removed from my phone automatically like others will please fix this.
Love proton, hate this app
I mean, c’mon!!! Fix this please! I’ve tried to upload a file more than 10 times, because if the phone closes or I’m not watching every second, it pauses. Worst part when it starts again after unpause, it’s at ZERO!!!!! Never mind it’s taking more than a min per meg!!! It would be different, even understandable if this were free…but it’s not. FIX PLEASE!

No search function
Amazing product degraded by the fact that you cannot search for files. Been waiting years and am about to give up!

Encrypted search is on our roadmap. It's not a straightforward task because all the file names are encrypted. That's why it is taking us some time to come up with a simple and secure solution.
Best Cloud App!
Love this app, use it for alll sorts of stuff from work to sharing memes. I do wish we could run/host apps here like NextCloud, I'd pay for that, like a Budgeting app or something.

Ich finde es sehr positiv, dass Proton Drive die Möglichkeit bietet, Ordner und Dateien mit einem Passwort zu teilen.
Leider gestaltet sich der Import kompletter Ordner aktuell recht umständlich. Statt einfach einen Ordner hochzuladen, muss man zunächst in Proton Drive einen neuen Ordner anlegen und anschließend die Dateien aus der Dokumente-App über die iOS-Teilen-Funktion importieren. Da nur einzelne Dateien über die Proton Drive App hinzugefügt werden können, ist dieser Prozess recht zeitaufwendig.
Ich wünsche mir, dass dieser Ablauf in Zukunft verbessert wird, da er momentan nicht besonders intuitiv ist. Ebenso wäre es großartig, wenn Ordner individuell durch Farben oder Symbole gestaltet werden könnten. Insgesamt bietet die App zwar eine solide Basis, doch es besteht noch viel Raum für praktische Erweiterungen.

Lacks search
The app is generally good and proton update it regularly which is great.

It seems to be getting stuck on "getting things ready"
Lousy development
The integration with file manager app has quietly disappeared without even an ETA to recover the feature. This is very limiting, and in the current state I can’t recommend. I regret paying for this service. Development is slapdash at best. Who makes a change like that without even putting it in the release notes? Or testing is such garbage they didn’t notice? Raises big questions about their stated commitment to security because if they miss this stuff, what else are they missing?

The latest SDK enabled version which brings with it faster and more performant uploads/downloads does not support Files app integration yet. We are working on it and it will be released in a future version. As said elsewhere, we're solving quite some technical challenges to eventually bring it back. Meanwhile, we're also improving the main app, so you might see new versions even if they don't immediately contain restored files integration experience.
Integration failed
Suddenly stopped integrating with the iOS Files app like it used to. This is important to export some files and photos. Please fix those annoying bugs before overstretching yourselves towards other "shiny new" apps. Remember your core business and users who depend on the current system for daily life.

Needs Improvement. Still my preferred safe backup solution

Worst backup cloud service
I like proton pass a lot. Mail and vpn is fine too. This is the worst service they provide. UI is horrible. No select all. Have to keep app open in foreground to even sync. Sync fails if you don’t and won’t resume, leaving you to start over. Can’t choose which photos to sync, it’s either all or none. This software is infuriating to use. Hard pass

Hi! I really like the app. I would love it if you could add Liquid Glass to it.
Kinda Useless
Kinda useless. I am a desktop Linux user and there’s no support. I bought this as part of the Proton subscription but what’s the point? I can’t even backup photos without keeping the app open all the time. I’m trying to find value in using it as a glorified Google Suite to take notes and but it’s laggy and doesn’t always sync. There are cheaper alternatives, if this wasn’t part of the bundle it wouldn’t be competitive on its own.

Missing files integration
This is almost the perfect sync solution. However the current lack of integration with the files app means that the app is unusable as an ios file client as it cannot integrate with any other applications that might make use of it.
Based on past reviews previous versions had this so it being removed is a MAJOR breaking change that cripples the ios app entirely.
