No search function

Amazing product degraded by the fact that you cannot search for files. Been waiting years and am about to give up!

Best Cloud App!

Love this app, use it for alll sorts of stuff from work to sharing memes. I do wish we could run/host apps here like NextCloud, I'd pay for that, like a Budgeting app or something.

I like everything from Proton. Privacy matters

It was a great decision to move to Proton. Privacy is paramount. I am tired of big tech spying on everything

Lacks search

The app is generally good and proton update it regularly which is great.

But I can’t find anything!! There is no search. This is major.

How can there be no search in a file storage solution….

latest release has issues

It seems to be getting stuck on "getting things ready"

Lousy development

The integration with file manager app has quietly disappeared without even an ETA to recover the feature. This is very limiting, and in the current state I can’t recommend. I regret paying for this service. Development is slapdash at best. Who makes a change like that without even putting it in the release notes? Or testing is such garbage they didn’t notice? Raises big questions about their stated commitment to security because if they miss this stuff, what else are they missing?

Very disappointed.

Integration failed

Suddenly stopped integrating with the iOS Files app like it used to. This is important to export some files and photos. Please fix those annoying bugs before overstretching yourselves towards other "shiny new" apps. Remember your core business and users who depend on the current system for daily life.

Response from developer

The latest SDK enabled version which brings with it faster and more performant uploads/downloads does not support Files app integration yet. We are working on it and it will be released in a future version.

Needs Improvement. Still my preferred safe backup solution

Two major points to add please asap.

1. Add to iphone files app
2. Please add SEARCH function

otherwise all good

My Review

Its good so far. But I dont like how you cant crop the photos or documents you take. Its annoying besides that its great so far

Thank you for your review and feedback! We've passed it along to the team.

Worst backup cloud service

I like proton pass a lot. Mail and vpn is fine too. This is the worst service they provide. UI is horrible. No select all. Have to keep app open in foreground to even sync. Sync fails if you don’t and won’t resume, leaving you to start over. Can’t choose which photos to sync, it’s either all or none. This software is infuriating to use. Hard pass

Feature Request

Hi! I really like the app. I would love it if you could add Liquid Glass to it.

Kinda Useless

Kinda useless. I am a desktop Linux user and there’s no support. I bought this as part of the Proton subscription but what’s the point? I can’t even backup photos without keeping the app open all the time. I’m trying to find value in using it as a glorified Google Suite to take notes and but it’s laggy and doesn’t always sync. There are cheaper alternatives, if this wasn’t part of the bundle it wouldn’t be competitive on its own.

Missing files integration

This is almost the perfect sync solution. However the current lack of integration with the files app means that the app is unusable as an ios file client as it cannot integrate with any other applications that might make use of it.

Based on past reviews previous versions had this so it being removed is a MAJOR breaking change that cripples the ios app entirely.

Great alternative

I love the private share function. I do a lot of creative writing and need to send files to all kinds of people for proofreading, and it’s so nice to be able to have some anonymity.

That being said, the in app document typing is so buggy. I have the whole thing up to date and have iOS 16.7.16 so it could just be me. But my app is up to date. I sent a bug report so hopefully it can be worked on. For more it’s enough to be annoying, but not enough to send me back to Google

Good but some issues

I appreciate the services that Proton provides as I try to De-Google, but I’m having some issues with documents where things don’t save properly and I lose some progress, especially if I use the comment feature.

使いにくさが…

他の方も書かれているが、スワイプで前後のファイルが見られないのがとても不便
それ以外は良いと思う

Hi! Thank you for the 4-star review! We'll add your +1 to help the team prioritize future improvements. Feel free to share any additional suggestions you might have on what we can do to improve and earn a 5-star rating.

Won’t upload your folders

The app only allows you to upload single files at a time. Have folders of files you need to upload? Good luck. You can try directly from the Apple files app, but I got a failed to import message every time. Even the web app doesn’t let you upload folders through iOS (though you can pick multiple files at least). Feels like an unfinished product. Very disappointed with Proton unlimited so far.

Secure snd Simple

I recently have started to use my Proton Drive to securely store and share files. The interface with my phone and computer are seamless.

Photo backup does not work for me

For some reason the number in progress jumps down to 0 pops up saying backup complete yet none of my photos have been backed up. I have tried turning it off and on and reinstalling the app.

Private, except for the hole

Hosting physical servers in, and routing vpn traffic via, 5/9/14 Eyes countries is a major privacy hole for every free account. If you accept that, it’s otherwise a nice alternative to the USA monoliths.
