Notifications don't sync across devices
The app's ok but when I receive a notification and there's a badge on the app, this only goes away on the device I then read the email on. When I swap to another device, the badge is there again even though the email's been read. I have to go in and read it again on each device, which is annoying.

Don’t use Proton
Proton is the worst company in the world. They refunded me for a service that wasn’t functioning after months of failed troubleshooting, and then THEY locked my account because of a “chargeback” issue. Simply do not use Proton or any of their services, I swear.

No Usernames Available Bug
It’s currently impossible to create a new free account because every username is registered as taken. This bug is also on their desktop version so it’s not app specific.

Proton is amazing
I love everything Proton are doing to create a privacy focused internet, without which, our democracy could one day be under threat. Proton Mail was the first app I got into, and it’s now my only email application.
Needs ability to select mails
I like the idea of proton, but the app is meh.
When reviewing your emails, you can’t select multiple down the list for deletion or whatever it may be. You need to delete one by one, which is annoying. I disconnected my old gmail from proton because I can’t bulk delete.
Also when you get links in the email, the app sometimes breaks them. I got a verify link from my bank, and when clicking from the proton app, i got a 404, but from proton in my browser, it worked fine.
Fix your app! Add checkboxes down the inbox so people can bulk select. I prefer proton to gmail but it’s got a ways to go.

Getting worse by the day
Protonmail was unique, innovative and included added extra that were at one time value for money. Recently however it’s not all I’ll tell you why. Ever since it was sold the automation is running it straight into the ground and driving loyal customers away with threat me of account closure, or deletion. Blocks in incoming emails and payment processing that doesn’t work anymore. The VPN even if duel isn’t fit for purpose and goes nowhere near being privacy focused and safe. Thats why it glitches every 5min. The perceived added value in these included extras isn’t worth the subscription cost anymore. In fact I have an inclination to demand some of my money back that’s how dissatisfied, and disappointed I am. Good luck trying to get support from a person. There are plenty of other privacy focused providers. I regret investing so much into proton. It’s even difficult leaving without the automated trying to prevent it. It’s a shame proton could have easily kept the title for no1 privacy focused provider.

Horrible
I paid $47 for 5 users and more storage. I haven’t been able to receive any emails and I’ve tried 3 different user names. I need my account refunded ASAP!

I recently upgraded from the free Proton plan to one of the paid plans. I like the whole suite of tools and how well they work across my devices and platforms.
My only complaints about this app are: the interface is kinda goofy and the app loads slowly. I'm sure it'll improve as Proton continues developing it.
As far as the interface goes, the unfiltered inbox is visually busy and there doesn't seem to be a way to make "Unread" the default view. Any other issues will be iOS-wide, so nothing Proton could do about them.

Terrible Company
This is a terrible app, especially when you need account recovery assistance. Sure hope you remember every single thing you did when u signed up and I hope you don’t forget a single thing you clicked, don’t forget anyone you email, don’t forget any subscription you signed up for using this email cause they won’t do anything to help you unless u remember everything 100% no deviation. Don’t think to yourself “surely there’s a way” cause there isn’t. This is the most backwoods, third world email service I’ve ever seen. Actual garbage human beings

I got an email but the notification was delayed by hours.
Not liking the app. Fluffy and not up to today’s standard
Just switching from Google accounts and Proton is great for features and privacy etc. the interface and setting up users and domains on a family account is horrible.
This app is really not intuitive or easy to follow or even use effectively compared to Apple Mail or Google Mail app etc.

Slow and unresponsive
I still have a Gmail account and forward everything to PM so I can see which messages have been delivered and which ones have not been forwarded. There seems to be an eight hour gap, and when I tried to refresh, the new messages do not appear. When I try to discard drafts they keep reappearing. All in all I’m not impressed. And I’m paying a monthly fee. For what, may I ask?
