About

How to use the new pairing (do this once) 1. Update both apps from TestFlight — Prox Remote on your iPhone, ProxRemoteTV on your Apple TV. 2. On the Apple TV, open ProxRemoteTV → Add Server / Pair → it shows a QR code. 3. On your iPhone, open Prox Remote → Pair with Apple TV → scan the QR. 4. Done. Behind the scenes the phone creates a revocable API token on your Proxmox server and sends that to the TV — your account password never touches the TV. To undo access for a TV later: Proxmox → Datacenter → Permissions → API Tokens → delete the proxremotetv token. The TV stops working; nothing else is affected, and you never rotate your password.

What's New in ProxRemoteTV

1.0.3

June 28, 2026

This release hardens how your Apple TV connects to Proxmox: • Password-free pairing: the TV now stores a revocable API token instead of your account password. Revoke a lost TV's access in one click without changing your password. • Encrypted connection pinning: the TV remembers your server's certificate and rejects any imposter (protection against man-in-the-middle attacks). • Credentials are now stored in the secure system Keychain, and any older plaintext copy is automatically removed on update. • Fixed sign-in for passwords containing special characters (& + % =). Re-pair your Apple TV after updating to switch it to the new secure token.
