PsyMap — Map Your Mental Health PsyMap is a free, research-based mental health self-screening tool built on the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) — a modern framework developed by clinical scientists to better reflect how mental health conditions actually occur. Unlike traditional systems that sort symptoms into rigid categories, HiTOP organizes mental health across continuous dimensions, or spectra. PsyMap guides users through a self-assessment covering six clinical spectra: Somatoform, Internalizing, Thought Disorder, Detachment, Disinhibited Externalizing, and Antagonistic Externalizing. Higher scores reflect more endorsed symptoms in that dimension — not a diagnosis, but a clearer picture of one's mental health profile. Temperament profiling (TEMPS-A) PsyMap includes the Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, and San Diego Auto-questionnaire, measuring five affective temperaments: Depressive, Cyclothymic, Hyperthymic, Irritable, and Anxious. Unlike symptoms, temperament traits are stable, lifelong tendencies that shape how people experience and respond to emotions — adding context to a symptom profile. Life stress measurement (SRRS) The Holmes & Rahe Social Readjustment Rating Scale measures cumulative life stress from major events in the past 12 months. High cumulative stress is linked to increased vulnerability to illness and emotional difficulty. Privacy by design Your mental health information belongs to you alone. PsyMap collects no personal information — no name, email, location, or device identifiers. All responses are stored exclusively on-device and never transmitted to any server, database, or cloud service. There are no analytics scripts, ad trackers, or third-party data collection. Developers cannot see your results. You can delete individual assessments anytime, or remove all data at once. Important PsyMap is for educational and informational purposes only.
