Very incorrect and misleading understanding of our app. We take reviews seriously. You missed the sorting, filtering, aerial views, routing and weather features of our app. Bad on us for that. Take a quick read here to find the short cuts that are built into the app. These features will get you to the hunting areas that you want, quickly. And ... we will update the design of our app to get these functions and features to stand out. In the meanwhile, there is an info glyph in the upper right that will take you to a comprehensive information page. Thank you for noticing the smart grid that presents all hunting areas that have the miles from you pre calculated. What you did not see: - Sorting and filtering on the columns of data - Swiping left to right on each row to present buttons for aerial view, driving directions and current weather. The filtering and sorting features allow you to quickly present just the game and areas that you are interested in. Again, our app presents hunting area information in a very easy to use custom data grid. No need to scroll through the entire grid. Use the column headers to sort, and the blank cell below the header to enter a few characters to display just the information you want - like region and game. To reiterate, from where you are, you see how many miles all of the over 4,400 areas are from you, acres, region, season, likely game - and with a left to right swipe on the row - current weather, satellite view and driving directions. Armed with this info, give the app another spin and give us feedback on what you like and what you feel needs improvement - a thorough and accurate review provides us a wealth of information to get our heads down and make our app better. The Explorer GIS app that you mention just does not do and was not designed to do what our app does. While a neat app, at minimum, there is no sorting and filtering. All those little shapes with different colors to choose from... but kudos for all of the data. We just make data easier to use. Jbiggy - Feedback is important to us. Developers deserve feedback that is constructive. Your review is misleading, incorrect, offers zero specifics and appears to have been written without actually using the app. We are very familiar with the website. The website has a wealth of data. The site is not structured to deliver this data without visiting numerous links and/or downloading files for importing into other applications, or downloading pdf files for reference. Even doing all that, even via GIS or Garmin using data downloaded from the website, it is impossible to do what our mobile app does. It is a great website. It is not a mobile app. Here are the mobile app functions and features that the website is not designed to provide. The app presents essential data for all 4,280 WIHA tracts in a smart data grid immediately upon opening the app. This is made possible by storing data in a custom data source that resides on the mobile device. From the data source we present 6 columns of essential information about the hunting area: - Tractid - Acres - Region - Season - Likely Game - Calculation of miles to the tract from your current location. We provide a swipe feature on the hunting tract row which presents buttons that display: - Overhead hybrid view of the tract - Directions to the tract - Current weather report nearest to the tract. With the smart data grid, you can sort, group and filter the data in the columns (except the miles calculation – in this release). Note: We found sorting by acres, grouping or filtering by region and filtering by game to be very useful to present just the hunting areas that we want to drive to and hunt on. There is a button to link from the app to the KDWPT website for the electronic reporting of your harvest and any other additional data that you want to access via KDWPT (might be licensing, electronic WIHA registration, and other data that is required to be or better served from the website). There is an info button which presents a page of comprehensive ‘Help’ information for the app. All of this functionality is provided with a nominal one-time download fee. As a footnote: I was born and raised in Kansas, and had the experience of knocking on doors to get access to private property to hunt and fish. WIHA is a fantastic concept, and this app provides you a mobile tool to select and plan where and what you hunt. It gets you on your way with the information that you need displayed on your phone, and routing you to your destination. On the way you can easily change your mind and select other tracts and routing, because you have all of the information with you.
