About
A calm pulse check, on your phone.
PulseCheck reads your heart rate from the rear camera of your iPhone. No smartwatch, no chest strap, no signup. Place your finger over the camera and flash, hold still for a few seconds, and you have your pulse.
WHAT MAKES PULSECHECK DIFFERENT
• 100% free. No subscription. No "unlock to see your reading" paywall. Ever.
• No sign-up. No email. No account.
• No smartwatch needed. The rear camera and flash are the sensor.
• Works after a workout. Post-Workout Mode loosens motion rejection so you can measure right after a run.
• Calm framing. We never show "abnormal" or panic colors. Your reading is just a reading.
HOW IT WORKS
PulseCheck uses photoplethysmography (PPG). The camera and flash detect tiny color changes in your fingertip caused by your pulse, and on-device signal processing turns that into a BPM number with a clear confidence label.
ON-DEVICE & PRIVATE
Your pulse readings are saved locally on your iPhone (in SwiftData), and if you want, you can optionally sync them to Apple Health — that toggle is off by default. PulseCheck shows ads to stay free; like most free apps it may ask for tracking permission, which you control in Settings.
LIQUID GLASS UI (iOS 26)
Built natively for iOS 26 with the new Liquid Glass design language. Warm coral gradients, a frosted "lens" that morphs through your measurement, SF Pro Rounded for the BPM digit. Designed to feel like a wellness tool, not a clinical device.
WHAT YOU GET
• Single-tap pulse measurement
• Post-Workout Mode for noisier measurements
• Reading history with optional context tags (Resting, Post-Coffee, Post-Exercise, Stressed, or Custom)
• Optional Apple Health sync (write-only)
• Small home-screen widget (last reading)
• Dynamic Island Live Activity during measurement
NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE
PulseCheck is a fitness and wellness tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring of any health condition. If you have concerns about your heart, please consult a qualified medical professional.
