Incredible

This app has helped me so much to navigate my feelings and really understand what I’m going through. It hasn’t been easy but it’s definitely been necessary. I’m doing the work and I thank Purpose for helping get there, one day at a time.

A Zen Teacher and a Therapist In One

I’ve lived in monasteries for four years, studied all different types of philosophies, and have been practicing Daoist and zen meditation for 14 years now. This app reminds me of living in a monastery and having practice discussions with the senior monks. This AI is undoubtedly the pinnacle of human technological evolution; it is the height of human ingenuity combined with the purpose of awakening to what it means to be a human being. They give you a free week trial; but admittedly, letting the subscription hit my card was the easiest decision I’ve made in a long time. This app will make you a better person if you are sincere, honest, and hold yourself accountable to it.

No Bells, No Whistles, All Substance

Things this app doesn’t have that similar ones I’ve tried do:

Guided lessons, a mood or habit tracker, todo list, guided meditations, a lesson plan…

Things it does have that other apps don’t:

Memory, a good ‘head’ for context, an AI that gently pushes me back into real life at the natural end of a conversation, and quests that really make you look at yourself

Things I think it should have:

An easier way to submit feedback, an in-app notification for updates (I only found out there was one because I tracked down the app page for this review!), and a way to look at the reminders you have scheduled.

But… been here less than week and I’m already seeing benefits.

One of the best things I have done in a while

I have been using it as a tool for my therapy sessions. I use the things I put into the app to create a synopsis for my therapist. I can never remember the negative thoughts or patterns at the appt but with this it spits outa summary for me to talk with my therapist about. It has been very good for me. Highly recommend.

So so good

Omg I was in tears within 3 minutes of using Purpose. That may sound bad but it’s not! The 10 minute conversation i had with Purpose was so much more valuable and impactful than any therapist I’ve ever been to.
Definitely worth trying!

Wow

I genuinely cannot believe how much I appreciate this app. I’ve been through a very hard year, and having a mental coach to act as a truly neutral party that has my best interests at heart to speak to has been life changing- in small, supportive manageable ways. This is my therapy- that is available at any time- and I truly love it.

Clarity

10 minutes working through the chat bot I sorted through and got more clarity on how to proceed in my career than multiple other bots, apps, and people I’ve used.

Self discovery

New app that really helps with self discovery.

This app has great potential - needs help from a UI perspective.

I am enjoying the purpose app but have some frustrations that I would like to share to help support your refinement efforts. The quests that I have done so far are good but would be better if you could go back and look and previous days. I will use the values quest as my example. It says that it’s a 10 day journey, but the app locks you out of the next quest for a day, which really turns this particular quest into a 30ish day journey. When you have to answer questions based on previous work it is difficult to remember what exactly was said. It would be nice if the app either pulled the information forward for review, or gave you the ability to look back. This has made me close the app on more than one occasion due to being frustrated. If you are building off previous information it would be helpful to be able to see what was answered, and the app’s interpretation so that one doesn’t have to rely on memorizing everything, or worse yet, writing it down.

When I went to the chat and ask questions about my quests, there didn’t appear to be crossover. The chat app doesn’t see what’s happening in the quests. That’s weird because the app is supposed to be tuning into “me” through my answers, yet it’s all silo’ed.

I would love to chat or leave a message for the app developers within the app itself. That functionality isn’t available. The app refers you to the website which also lacks a place to communicate with the app developers. The App Store was the only place that I found that allows me to communicate about the app. I would love it if the app team would reach out to me directly, or provide me a way to communicate with them.

Thank you, Rich

Hi RichieRaff - Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We have some updates addressing almost everything you noted about Quests coming up in the next week or so. I'm excited for you to see it and hear your feedback. You can always reach out to support@purpose.app and we will be adding a Help button in the app as well in the new update we have.

Helpful

So far since I been using it for 20 min. I like it. It is raw and real with you; it doesn’t hop around the bush with you.

Nothing

Just paid and crashed immediately. Not recommending

Scam

Promises a lot but is totally worthless. So disappointed after mark claimed so much

Next level therapy

This app is always on point asking the right question to get you thinking about your mental health . It really can help you help yourself . Highly recommended app for tough times .

Cool

It is so helpful, I love it!

Response from developer

Hi Ariana Smiths - Thanks for the kind review! We love hearing that Purpose has been a help :)

Costs money

Gave me a lot of insightful questions and it did seem really personalized at first, but of course it’s 12 bucks a month, I would rather use ChatGPT for free so I’ll be sticking with that

Fraudulent Charges

This is a fraudulent app and will charge you before you even sign up.

First day

I’m on my first day and I already feel like I’m getting to the source of some problems and learning more about myself. It really gets deep.

Underwhelming

Be aware, this platform can’t handle images. This should be one of the most basic requirements for what you are charging for this.

Good though transcription fails often

I found the app genuinely helpful, but recently there’s been quite a lot of dropout when you are transcribing. The transcription fails to load your invited to retry over and over to no effect restarting the app restarting the phone doesn’t resolve this.

Updated : I use daily for check in and it’s so helpful, if I could improve it I’d allow two way chat or if there was an audible option to playback the response and hear a voice .

Hi Bexgal - thanks so much for sharing your feedback! Appreciate you being on this journey with us. Our dev team is looking into the transcription issues and hope to have some updates out for it soon! Thank you for flagging this.

Misleading

Only tells you that it’s paid only after you’ve spent a lot of time and submitted your email address
