Disappointing
Tried to set up an account on the app. For some reason my identity was unable to be confirmed. After emailing several times with the bank, they continued to inform me that I will not be eligible for an account. Although I can prove my identity, only the rudimentary ID software can be used. They can’t reset it, and they have no formal procedure to ID me. I’m incredibly frustrated - I’m an ethical vegan and this is the bank I want. Hoping they resolve this issue soon because they are eliminating a portion of their target customer base for very unreasonable circumstances.

Disappointed
I don’t like that I am put on a waitlist for an invitation…it tells me I’m not valued and not really wanted. No information is given as to how long the waitlist is, or when I can hear a follow-up. I would like to move to an ethical bank but only if they VALUE ME and MY MONEY….
Vegans Unite
I have been vegetarian 17 years and vegan for 6 years and its always been a challenge finding businesses with similar morals an values as mine but with purpose banking that is not that case. I am beyond thrilled to have found a place to keep my money that is transparent and trustworthy!!!

I had some questions after setting up my account so I reached out to the support team and I was IMPRESSED with how quickly they responded to my message. They answered all my questions and really made me feel like they valued me as a customer. Will be recommending to others!!!

okay so I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Purpose! I would have never imagined finding a banking system that would meet all my banking needs while so aligning with my beliefs and morals. I highly recommend to all my vegan and non vegan pals!!!

Just Started! Looking good so far
The app runs incredibly smoothly: very clean design. Getting an account was really straight forward, and only took a few minutes!
Mind you, the app doesn’t have many features that you would get at a full-on bank, but as a person who doesn’t need things like checkbooks or investments, this app is perfect.
This won’t replace my main bank or my main credit card, but it will definitely be my primary card when I’m shopping for certain essentials and everyday products since I’m vegan and many of these discounts are really good.
I can’t wait to start using my card when it gets here in a few days! I’m passionate to see how this app turns out!

Not really banking
I was so excited about this option to get away from big banks, but going to sign up and reading the terms of service I find out that you can only deposit to your account from another bank account in your own name, meaning that you still have to have another bank account, which defeats the purpose for me. Not being able to deposit paychecks or even do direct deposit. This is more like a credit card than a bank. I had such high hopes and sadly am really disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback! We love it when users switch away from unethical banks to Purpose and apologize for any confusion in this area. Account holders can absolutely setup direct deposit to Purpose by providing their account and routing number to their employer. For those users who prefer it, we do also allow transfers from other external bank accounts. A Purpose account is a standard checking account and debit card which can be used to receive payroll deposits, pay bills, and spend anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Love that I can bank in a way that’s aligned with my values
Unlike other banks, my deposits don’t get invested in factory farming and other businesses that I don’t agree with. Plus it’s really easy to use and has awesome perks. So happy with the app!
