Annoying, expensive and slow.

I’ve used this app for both my kids for their first year of their lives. It was recommended to me by a friend. Before I figured out how annoying the app was I was already too committed and had to continue since I didn’t do a normal baby book and had to keep it consistent with both my kids.
The first most annoying part, are the marketing texts. I turned off the prompts all together because I was getting a spam marketing text once day while postpartum and couldn’t say no to marketing without stopping all notifications. Turning off the texts made me miss prompts and questions I would have liked to answer. Second, both parents can’t be admins, which leaves off certain features, views and capabilities and is extremely frustrating.
Additionally, the app runs SO SLOW. Uploading, editing and creating the book takes SO long because it takes forever to load anything. My final feedback is it’s so expensive. The books and subscription are not worth the money. The photos turn out grainy, you can’t just go through it in a nice way on the app. I just really was disappointed in my entire baby book experience.
In hindsight I should have done a handwritten book and manually printed pictures instead.
I’m truly shocked how many good reviews this has. It’s so frustrating to use in so many ways!

I can’t stop now

I love Qeepsake! Such an amazing service to capture all of the precious moments in life. I would never have documented the sweetest moments of childhood/parenthood If it weren’t for this app. The prompting text questions are great. Tonight the text question made me stop and document a beautiful moment putting our daughter to bed and the things that were said. It’s one of a million moments that will be forever changed as she grows up. I now have this documented in a way that will allow me to be reminded of it years later. I started with Qeepsake while pregnant and have printed a book of that year’s memories every year since (7!). The collection of books is growing and there is no way I can stop until my daughter is at least 18…who knows, maybe I’ll keep it going after. Digital pictures just stay in a cluttered photo file on your phone never to be seen again. I think most of us have become wise to posting our every minute of life and children on social media. Qeepsake gives me a way to post my own memories and child’s milestones as conveniently as social media but just for me.

Scammers

This app was great for the first part of using it. Then they got money hungry I guess and deactivated my account and kept all of my journal entries locked until I paid to buy a book of the journal entries or a membership when it originally had been free, when I finally caved and paid $30 for a book, they send me a notification that says my book is printing and will send me a notification when it ships. Even though I had been upset I was excited to get this until it was almost a month later and I never got a shipping notification, so I reached out. They said they sent me a pdf instead…. This wasn’t explicitly stated that I wouldn’t be also receiving the physical copy like they misleadingly made it sound. So for $30 I might get to see my children’s memories I logged again… and the pdf also says it is “non-printable”. This company took my journal entries hostage and scammed me into paying a ransom for something I never received. I do not recommend, go look for another app or buy a physical journal. These are dirty liars and scammers. 👎🏼

To the response- yeah, you didn’t answer for keeping the memories “hostage”. You locked the journal entries until you could force payment to get them back. DIRTY. It’s not like you locked the account just for further use or anything- you kept the journal entries hidden until paid. Not a family focused app, just money focused. No warning before either.

Please Improve:

I want to love this app, but a couple of years into using it and there are a handful of things that make it difficult for the customer. If uploading photos from my iPhone 15, even though the app asks me if I want the original date of the photo to be uploaded and I select "yes", it will upload with the current date. This caused me a nightmare of having to go in and hand adjust every single photo date referencing my phone data. Secondly, if I am a year or two behind on printing a book and want to go and edit the book before printing, I have to scroll past everything since that time period to edit. Also, I'm having trouble making four images per page and not just one. I hope the creators will improve these aspects to make it user friendly.

Deactivated and deleted

I used this app for my babies first year of life with the intention to purchase a book. Qeepsake changed their terms and deactivated my account after I stopped my paid subscription. Emails to explain this went to junk and were never read. I paid for over a year and had a year of entries and they are all gone. When a company stores such important memories I think more should have been done than automated emails before everything was deleted. I paid a lot of money to store and log these memories and now they are gone. My first babies first year. I’m heartbroken and would never recommend this platform to anyone.

Shady Business Practices - Avoid This App

I’ve been using this app for many years now on their free tier. I’ve recently received notice that my account is being deactivated unless I sign up for a paid membership. I get that business needs change, but you started the free option, not me and now my memories are being held hostage unless I purchase a membership OR pay for a PDF of everything I’ve put up there. Talk about bait and switch. How dare you blackmail your users and offer no free option to retrieve their memories?! I am appalled and would recommend users avoid this company at all costs.

Used to be worth it…

They just changed to a paid only app. I have almost 6 years of memories on my account and I have to either pay for an annual membership or pay to have my memories sent on a one time pdf. There’s no other option but to delete the account. I can’t even view what was saved. This is shameful. Unless you can pay $10/$15, some literally can’t, doesn’t matter how long you’ve used their app, you’re going to lose your memories. It is wrong to force someone to suddenly pay or delete their account and lose everything. There has always been a free version with way less bells and whistles, I’m sure there were plenty of people paid. This feels like simple greed. Really disappointed in this decision. Guess I’m saying goodbye to memories unless I pay. I’m struggling to put food on the table for the child whose memories I’d had on this app.

AI generated questions

I’ve been using Qeepsake for a while so I saw the change when they started using AI to generate questions that are seasonally inappropriate and just don’t make sense at all. “What imaginative stories does child create about pumpkins?” “What autumn sensory experience seems to fascinate child the most?” Ok first of all, it’s spring… also what kind of questions are those? I emailed support and immediately received an AI generated response that did not address my concerns. Very disappointed and am considering canceling which is a bummer because I have enjoyed it for so long.

Good until it’s not

I started this with my first born in 2022 and was pleased with the ease of adding daily pictures and memories. But with the addition of new kids and the pricy upgrades I tried to do minimal charges. Now I am confronted with a notification that my account will be deleted and I will lose all my progress if I do not buy or upgrade. I can’t even adjust the book entries if I decided to purchase one. I haven’t been inactive either, adding a new memory a few weeks ago.
I do not appreciate being held hostage for my kids memories with buying upgrades or expensive books I can’t even customize now. If I can warn everyone that this will happen, I was caught off guard and am extremely displeased.

Stealing my memories

Have been using this app since the birth of my daughter 3 years ago. Now they want me to subscribe or I won't be able to even access my old entries. Stay away from these THIEVES.

Another Broken App

Am I shocked that a working and free app is changing to a paid model for just the basics of not only the one entry per week service, but also the *privilege* of accessing the app at all? No. I’m not. Opened it today to find that I can’t even look at any of my entries, there is now a pop up wall that gives three options - shell out for the Qeepsake Lite, go to the store where I can preview a generated journal that I can pay for, or delete my account all together, even though the official change isn’t happening for two more weeks. Oh well. Guess I’ll go back to traditional journaling where at least the (once a week) questions won’t include common knowledge items, like who the president was when my baby was born.

Love this for my kids and my memories

My two girls were born within 19 months of each other and the fact that I could answer texts about each of them in real time from the time they were babies was essential. When I give them their Qeepsake books every few years, they get so excited and read every word. Now that they are older, I sometimes ask them to answer and it’s a fun family activity of reflecting and remembering. In this case, the use of daily technology is moving humanity’s goodness forward in a holistic way!

Love!

I have been using for 5 years, for 3 kids and love it! I recommend to all my new mommas too!

Highly Recommend

I couldn’t be happier with this app and service. It’s easy to use, kept us up on journaling, and the products are beautiful. We captured my son’s first year so far and didn’t hesitate to renew for the second year! I recommend it to everyone. And my family absolutely loves their weekly emails/“digests.” Many of them say it’s the highlight of their week.

New Age Baby Book

Finally a baby book that actually gets completed!
The daily prompts make it super easy to keep your book up to date with all the little things you forget along the way.
User friendly and very timely.

Very easy but need more variety of questions

It does help keeping track but repetitive questions and some don’t apply.

Great app, have used for 5 years

I buy a journal book every year and treasure having these memories of my kiddo.

Buy Me!

This is one of the very best purchases I have made since having my little one almost four years ago. So many wonderful memories have been captured, most with photos! I also love the feature of being able to pick how many questions you’d like to be asked and the frequency of them.
This is truly such a wonderful thing to have for busy families who don’t have the time to scrapbook or record memories!

My favorite way to save memories of my kids!!

I found this app when my oldest was 2 (he’s 8 now), and I absolutely love it!!! I print a yearly book for each of my 3 kids and it’s a great way to capture big and small memories. I love that the app is so easy to use, that I can text in memories, and that you can prompt yourself with questions each day. It’s a fantastic app and one I’ve recommended to so many friends and family!

A way to preserve memories and have a full time job!

Sometimes it feel impossible to do it all, but a small hack like using Qeepsake has made the world of difference for me. For years now, I’ve been taking a picture with a quick caption (in real time to the best of my ability) and upload it to Qeepsake, and at the end of the year I have a beautiful heirloom book to print for my children. Without spending 100 hours at the end of the year doing the organizing. Thank you for saving my sanity Qeepsake!
