Great audio, sloppy music curation

The actual audio offered by Qobuz is fantastic. However, for a service that promotes a prestige experience, the curation of Qobuz’s catalog reflects the opposite. Album artwork on numerous releases is low-quality and poorly cropped. Text for song and album titles is hardly edited to any uniform capitalization standard. Redundant and unnecessary extra text stating “(Album Version)” is present in a large number of songs. If I am paying a premium price for the service, the presentation of content should reflect extra care and detail for that price.

For patient music lovers

Exceptional sound quality (when your bandwidth permits) and the reassurance of artists getting paid, as well as interesting write ups and recommendations.
Credit card payment was frankly difficult, and the app doesn’t always run smoothly (Eg. player stopping mid-track), so hopefully Qobuz is working on fixing some tech glitches. Certainly the new version of the player with lyrics feature is a fab improvement. Hoping to stick with this platform long term 🤞🎶

Love that you pay artists more

Great quality and all the same songs as other players. Make the switch!

Great sound quality, terrible user interface.

I really appreciate the sound quality of this app but….The user interface is the absolute worst! I want to play all my music at this level of quality but I am considering dropping it and going back to another service. I hope you’re listening Qoubuz! Fix this please!!!

The best, apart from searching.

Self explanatory. Love Qobuz and have referred several friends. The search function needs work.

Used to be ok

A new release is one of those great leaps backwards
Don’t let it update

Love qobuz

Very glad I made the move from Spotify, which was seamless.

Great app, might be some terrific new features, but how would you know?

Here’s the thing Qobuz, and I’ve told you before… when you launch an upgrade with so many new features and different ways to use the app… why don’t you do what WiiM does and make a comprehensive list for us? I keep finding new ways this app behaves by accident, good things, hidden because you don’t do a proper update list with the new features, bug fixes and how to use the new bits… such a shame!

I mean, it seems you can now swipe the cover art, nothing happens, but you can swipe it… oh hang on if you then down swipe it starts playing that track, new feature or bug? Who would know!

Be like WiiM, broadcast your new bits and big fixes, it encourages loyalty - ok? 👌

Finally!!!!! Audiophiles Unite!

This is it, the one, the GOAT. Nothing else comes close! Tested on Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 with case transmier and without, also on Lucid Dream Audio System, against Tidal using same songs at highest downloaded rates and streaming. Not even a contest. I thought it would be a difficult comparison. Nope. This is by far the best. Bravo! And thank you!

Wish this was better

Music quality and selection is great. I really want to ethically listen to music, but this app is full of problems. Often crashes. At the moment I can’t search or listen to anything without deleting everything and redownloading. Contacted customer support a week ago to no response. Switching to Apple Music 😔

Mostly Awesome Streaming Service

I suffered for years with a big streaming service that still to this day creates weekly playlists repeating the same overplayed tracks endlessly. Then they promised high resolution literally for years and only recently finally delivered, only, CD quality. I had enough, dug around several years back and discovered most audiophiles were using Qobuz. Did a free trial, was blown away the very first night.

Incredible library of the music I like, e.g., Classical, Jazz, Classic Rock, Americana. Not quite as deep as some of the other services but close and Qobuz kills it with their Classical library. The sound quality has been fantastic from the get go. The lowest quality, CD, is nearly indistinguishable from the disc. Plus the high resolution tracks are spectacularly good if done from a good master - granted a pretty big if.

None of the streaming services pay the artist, especially the smaller ones, jack but at least Qobuz isn’t paying the least and the annual subscription, while not the least expensive, is less than a couple of the bigger services.

The wait for Qobuz Connect was long but it was and is excellent. The recent update to the app is fantastic, lyrics and easy access to info about the artist and recording. It’s greatly diminished my curiosity about Roon.

A couple nits. One, search for classical recordings on the phone and tablet apps is poor. Really needs to be improved to easily sort by composer and/or conductor and/or orchestra, etc. Customer service is a weakest link. I’ve tuned many friends onto Qobuz but they can’t fix simple things like facilitating payment for Qobuz or even questions about subscriptions. Customer Service is an area they really need to improve.

Overall, Qobuz is remarkable. So much great music at your fingertips and superb sound quality.

Keep on listening.

Could be better

I expected more, I came from Spotify and it’s just not the same. I want to like it more as I appreciate the standards Qobuz has for their artists. However, suggested songs suck. Whether you’re trying to create a playlist or listening past your created playlist. Also, when I paid to transfer playlists from Spotify, some said unavailable. Which was weird, they are pretty famous songs. I also hate the sound volume difference between songs. I coach workout classes and constantly have to have my phone on me to adjust volume whether it’s blaring loud or hardly able to be heard.

New Update Sucks

I love qobuz, but the new update sucks. it looks cheesy and i’ve already had the vibe killed at least 10 times over the past couple days with the “swipe to skip to the next song feature.” Sometimes this was because i was trying to swipe to see the queue like you could on the old app, but often it’s just because the app is super sensitive and completely by accident. Give us the old app back so I can stop killing the vibe please!!!!🙏🙏🙏

The app is decent

Music is great and it’s awesome how ethical the company is but it’s super hard to see other people’s profiles or to share music. Also, the recommendations for similar music are not very accurate. It is also super hard to search for songs or musicians as the information you type needs to be 100% accurate and even still the song you want is never the first to show up.

Missing Personal Features

Would like to see the ability to add custom cover art to my playlists, and the ability to add a custom profile photo. Otherwise it’s just another just okay music app.

Such interesting music and useful editorials

Definitely the best music app I have tried. Does not just push you endlessly towards recent hits but introduces really interesting, offbeat stuff. The magazine-style editorials are so useful to decide when to invest time listening to something new.

Lots to love, but buggy

Updating my review because there are just too many times the app has a really big lag playing a song, or I get the dreaded “An error has occurred, please try again later” message. Still, I’m rooting for Qobuz and will stick with them for now!
