Was great
Then they lost their bank partnership for an undisclosed reason and now it’s a lot of manual labor. I’d rather just keep physical envelopes of cash instead if I have to track everything manually anyway.
Struggling with the new system
First and foremost I am aware that Qube is in beta and making changes. I do not expect it to be fully polished or bug free.
My wife and I have loved using Qube to budget and save money. I know the Qube team has had to make a lot of adjustments to the budgeting system due to changes in banking partnership. We have been eagerly waiting for Qube to be back up since the service had to pause and make changes.
Now that it is back and in beta we have been testing it out.
Originally, your money would be stored in Qube, you would allocate it between envelopes (Qubes), and you would select one before it would let you spend on your Qube card. It was intuitive, easy to use, and effective for budgeting.
Now without a banking partner Qube is unable to have money stored in the app. You report transactions manually based on your spending between debit and credit cards.
These new steps and changes have been a point of frustration for us. I have been trying to take time learning the new system. I am fairly tech literate but have been struggling to budget with this the same way I used to.
As a customer, it’s hard to not compare the new system to how it used to work. It has been a little disappointing because the way it used to work was the perfect budgeting solution for us.
Are these just growing pains? We will find out. The team has proven they can make something great, so I feel it is worth keeping up with the progress of this beta.

Good Concept but SO MANY ISSUES
I will update if it turns out to just be lack of knowledge with the app.
That being said, I spent about 5 hours yesterday trying to figure things out.
First issue is preplanning for a future month/period. Theres no way to do this on mobile, and it’s honestly annoying. Not everyone has access to a computer, which is what I had to do my preplanning.
With May almost finished, I’m not going to start with May, that’s just silly since I’m officially broke until the 1st. I’m starting in June.
Well, there have been issues even on the computer as well. For example, all of the default categories. Not everyone had Amazon or Hulu or Spotify, and yes, you can edit them, but even editing all the defaults there were still extras cluttering things up. Archive them, right? Wrong. Tried to archive them and there was an error saying they don’t exist.
I’m going to keep it for at least the 15 day free trial, but I will not be renewing until I know how it works or determine it’s too much work to deal with the bugs.
I have a computer, but I don’t have WiFi and have to use my phone hotspot. There’s only so much of that with my plan, so I’d rather not pay for an app, pay for extra hotspot…just to do everything on the computer. I should be able to do most, if not all, from my phone.
Compared to EveryDollar, there are a few things computer/browser exclusive, but it’s small things like renaming groups or deleting extra groups.
Everything else is accessible on both the app and the browser, just those two things that are browser exclusive.
Like I said, I’m gonna give it til the end of the 15 day trial, but I, so far, hate this app due to all the bugs.
Also, I’m only able to connect the one account. Like I have 2 checking with the same bank, and 2 savings. I was only able to connect one checking, and an error showed up saying my credentials were correct but my account was ineligible. How is one checking at a bank eligible but the other checking isn’t?
In addition, I already have money towards my savings goals, from previous months, but I’m not able to add that current balance. It makes me start at $0 saved, which is annoying.

Update: BEWARE lost thousands of dollars and custom service was horrible
Current:
BEWARE!!!
I still have yet to see resolve from my case from the shut down of this app and the loss of their banking partner. In the shutdown we had several thousand dollars in our account and when closing out Qube said we had negative transactions and basically stole our money. I’m posting this here because others should be careful when engaging and maybe this will actually get someone to respond to me as a human not an AI
Former:
We’ve been using Qube and are former Simple / One Finance Users and use Qube in conjunction with Every Dollar and Dave Ramsey’s approach to budgeting. This app does everything we need it to do and we can’t stop talking about it and sharing this with others. It’s made budgeting more enjoyable and effective!

Loved it. Until…
Qube Money was everything I needed to help me budget correctly and save. I never was able to successfully until I found this app. I loved the bank card tied to the app that would allow you to only approve transactions that you plan for. No unexpected surprises. No overdraw.
Then in October/November of 2025 when they lost their banking partner, I had to move my money out (everyone did) with the promise of them returning with another backer within a couple months. I had put myself on the waitlist on day 1. However, still to this day I am on the waitlist list. So I have given up and moved on.
I have been using Envelope as an alternative and have been happy with the results.

Good app! One suggestion
I haven’t used the new version yet since I don’t have access but this is my experience from my use before it was shut!
It is so useful being able to organize things and I don’t mind if it’s not the fastest! The only problem I have is that it’s not fully offline? I love kind of in the middle of nowhere and the city is very small often I don’t have good reception so when I want to pay for something it just doesn’t open or let me pay, I was told there’s a way to make a small amount offline? But I know this is a tall order but I really wish that the whole app would work offline!

Money locked
I tried multiple times to transfer my money out and all of them got reversed. Now my login is dead and I can’t get ahold of anyone. DO NOT RISK IT with this app.
Why
Why aren't you taking new users
Disappointed
The last month has been an absolute disaster. You’re unprofessional and disorganized. I am so done with this amateur app.
Unorganized Company
I was using Qube money to save money each week, and it was going well for awhile. That was until I received a message from the banking company Qube was using saying that all money needed to be moved out because they were no longer going to be partnering with the app. I did as I was instructed and have been trying for a month to close this account with zero help from anyone at customer service. I have taken all the steps they have sent me and yet they still charge me even though I have written them multiple times in a month stating I would no longer like to subscribe to their service. This is more of a hassle than it was ever helpful and I would not recommend.

Game changer
Well there we were just fumbling along like bumbleberries trying to budget our way out of financial purgatory with a muddy shovel and a hacky sack when along comes guess what Qube. Yeah talk about trading dungarees for a Ducati. We can now actually implement the freaking budget, stick to it, save and make hay. Hooray!!

“Pressing Pause”
The app just told all users they are “pausing” operations until they find a new banking partner. All users are being forced to move their money to another bank until they figure their stuff out.
I paid for the premium membership and now I have to redo all of my finances. All virtual cards and routing numbers for direct deposits are getting destroyed. My financial life is in ruins. Do NOT download until this is resolved.

Amazing!
This app has been absolutely life changing for my family!!! Qube has really evolved and they are adding new features all the time.
Useless
The first thing it ask for is my phone number and wants to setup banking. NO.
No one wants to spend hours setting up an app when we don’t even know if we will like it.
It’s called test a drive!—DEMO!
You could offer a demo mode where we didn’t have to spend hours setting up.
All these “new” Apple apps have decided to use these sales tactics to try to get you to buy.
NO. I as a customer demand better.
As a consumer we don’t buy Adobe products without trying it first.
What makes you so special?
I don’t mind paying money, but I have to see value first.
There is no value in something that immediately ask for private information and crazy setup processes right off the rip!
So, YES! This app is useless to me.

Potential, but unrealized
The concept is similar to Simple(RIP) but the app is buggy and slow; it takes a good 3-4 seconds for the app to respond when you select a Qube to attribute a charge to. The basics of envelope budgeting are there but with an over zealous approach that you have to open a Qube before you use it. Opinion: The company also seems kind of culty… CEO offering give aways to spend vacations with him to learn “financial competency”. The co-founder, Shane walker, also has Facebook posts supporting anti-trans laws, gross.
Update: Qube responded so I wanted add more. “Servant Leader” is an interesting phrase! I would love a definition. But I certainly understand it to be more of a slogan than an actual title. I mean that to say its intention is to sell something or gloss over something more than to actually define something. No matter your statement, if you claim to “care” and be a “servant” but turn around and support laws that jeopardize and harm a vulnerable group of fellow humans then it is obviously just fluff/slogans. Qube might be a good fit for some individuals. For me it was clunky and slow and if you care about social issues then the public values, policies and politics they support might be an issue. Thank you for your response!

Great App for budgeting
I really like this app for budgeting. I can separate out grocery money from gas money from eating out money etc. It’s great for knowing exactly how much I can spend and keeping me on budget.
Great idea, needs work on execution
It’s really hard to get money into the account without relying on direct deposit. ACH transfers take five days because Qube has a holding period to prevent fraud ( a byproduct of it being a fintech company and not a bank ) and there was no way to verify the account via Plaid so you can't initiate the transfer from an external account. The second issue is that I would submit support tickets asking questions about the app and would not receive a response. This is really concerning given that the only way cancel your account is through support ( no click to cancel ).

Kept my money
I asked them to send my $5 back when I was having too much trouble connecting my bank account. They said we can send your $ back and close your account we just need to verify you. They verified and closed my account without sending my $ back. Only $5 thank God. But that’s theft even so.
Unauthorized Charges
I signed up for Qube Money with high hopes, but I’m extremely disappointed. The app started charging me a monthly fee without my authorization or any clear notice. I never agreed to a paid subscription, and there was no transparency about these charges.
I contacted support, but getting help has been frustrating and slow. I expected better communication and integrity from a financial app. This feels deceptive, and I do not recommend Qube Money to anyone unless you want to deal with surprise charges and poor customer service.
