It really did help.

2 years and 5 days today, and I thought it would never happen. Give it a try, or 10 tries until it works. It’s definitely worth it.

Response from developer

Amazing! Congratulations and thanks for the review.

No adjustment

This app doesn’t adjust to the way I smoke. It does simple math to set the time for next cigarette.
It should see that I smoke 4 cigarettes in a row sometimes and shorten the time between smokes to account for that knowing I won’t wait 25 minutes to smoke but maybe 10-15 at first. I smoke more in the morning and at night. There should be an algorithm that takes all these factors in to account. I may have to find an app that can do that.

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. The idea behind Alive is actually a little different from what you’re describing. The goal of the program is to gradually help users increase the waiting time between cigarettes and build longer periods without nicotine. If the app continuously adjusted itself to every smoking pattern, it would also need to account for weekends, workdays, vacations, parties, stressful situations, holidays, and many other variables. In practice, that would often reinforce existing habits rather than help create new ones. Our approach is intentionally simpler: gradually separate cigarettes so your body gets used to longer periods without nicotine, regardless of the specific situation or time of day. That said, different people prefer different methods, and we genuinely hope you find the approach that works best for you. Thanks for giving Alive a try.

Finally

Great tool. Smoked 25 years and finally quit.

Developer Help, Please?

I really like this so far and it is way better than other apps but I can’t set the day schedule thing to match with the hours I am awake. My day usually doesn’t end until 3am but the app always resets the counter at midnight and it is so stressful because then I technically go over and then I feel bad so I am stuck in a loop of not being able to move forward. Please help Mr Developer I just need to be able to have the counter not go to the next day until like 3 or 4am

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for your comments! The day does reset at midnight, and I understand this can feel confusing if you stay up late. What’s important to understand is that this works the same way every day. Cigarettes after midnight count toward the new day, then cigarettes after midnight the following day count toward the next one, and so on. Because of this, the overall pattern stays consistent over time, even if your personal day ends later. What often causes issues is relaxing late at night and then starting the next day with a higher count early on, which makes it easier to reach the daily limit. That’s why what really helps is respecting the waiting times and the schedule you set at the beginning of the program. As long as you keep recording your cigarettes and follow those waiting times, the program continues to work as intended — even with a late schedule. Regards!

Wish it was free

Great app has really been helping so far but after a week you can’t use it anymore unless you pay. Deleted it instantly. Will find another app that does the same for free.
