Disappointing app

I urgently needed to book a Tatkal ticket and therefore attempted to make the reservation through the RailOne app. However, the app’s performance was extremely disappointing. During the crucial booking window, the application kept buffering continuously and failed to process the booking request. By the time the app became responsive, all available Tatkal tickets had already been booked, leaving me with no option except a waiting-list ticket.

The very purpose of a Tatkal booking platform is to facilitate quick and efficient ticket reservations during a highly time-sensitive period. An app that remains stuck on buffering when users need it the most defeats its intended purpose. The persistent technical delays and poor responsiveness resulted in the loss of an opportunity to secure a confirmed ticket, causing considerable inconvenience and frustration.

It appears that the app is unable to handle peak booking traffic effectively, which raises serious concerns regarding its reliability for Tatkal reservations. I request that this issue be investigated and appropriate corrective measures be taken to ensure that users do not suffer similar hardships in the future.

Excellent Improvement Over the Old IRCTC App

I used to use the IRCTC app, but the user experience was not very good. I often wondered why private company apps felt much better than government apps.

That has changed with the RailOne app. The app is easy to use, well designed, and better than many private apps. It includes all the important IRCTC features in one place. We can book both reserved and unreserved tickets, check train running status, view coach positions, and access other railway services conveniently.

Overall, RailOne has significantly improved the railway booking experience. Great job by the team!

Deserves nothing more than 0

The worst app ever created by mankind. Booking a tatkal ticket on this disaster of an app feels harder than surviving a psychological experiment. I entered passenger details, got randomly logged out, logged back in, entered everything again, and the same thing happened. Fifteen times. FIFTEEN. And every single time, after wasting minutes retyping everything like an idiot, the app rewards me with this masterpiece of engineering:“Unable to process request.” Half an hour of pure torture. Tickets still clearly available. More than 100 seats showing. Yet this thing refuses to do the one thing it was built to do.

This isn’t an app. It’s a punishment mechanism disguised as software. The UI is garbage, the servers are prehistoric, and the entire experience feels like the developers actively hate human beings.
Wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy. And if anyone from the team actually reads reviews, go fix your completely useless excuse for an app.

Good but needs Improvement for Local Train Reservation

The app has the option to book local train and is using GPS technology to locate and help with the booking! Am a traveller who travels on long distance trains and might require to change to local trains and it is easy to switch trains from the station once getting down, but when I use the app to book both the options doesn’t work! If I select outside station is shows am too close and wouldn’t let me book and if I select at station and scan the QR available in the station it throws an error as Location out of range which makes no sense! This is absolutely causing unwanted hassle with such advanced Apps available! Would be great if this can be addressed! Apart from that the App is promising and makes reservation easier.

Suggestion for Urgent AC Ticket Booking Facility on Platform

Dear RailOne Team,

I would like to share an important suggestion that can greatly help passengers during urgent travel situations.

Sometimes, passengers already have a general or non-AC ticket, but due to urgency (time constraints, long-distance travel, or comfort needs), they may want to upgrade to an AC coach when an AC train is available on the platform.

Currently, there is no quick and easy option to do this at the last moment.

Suggestion:
Please introduce an “Urgent AC Ticket Booking / Upgrade” feature in the RailOne app that allows:

- Instant upgrade from general/sleeper ticket to AC (if seats are available)
- Booking AC tickets even after reaching the platform
- Real-time seat availability for last-minute passengers
- Quick payment and confirmation within seconds

This feature would be extremely helpful for passengers who need to travel fast and comfortably without missing the train.

It will improve passenger convenience and also help utilize vacant AC seats efficiently.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you will consider implementing this feature.

Best regards,
[Your Name]

Very nice app

Very nice app and interface. All in one solution for railway related things.

(Small feedback for developer- while viewing booked tickets, default sorting mode is set to booked date. I usually have more than 10 tickets. While checking multiple tickets, it is very confusing to check when it is sorted by booking date. I recently booked twice for the same journey because of this. I have to change sorting mode Everytime. After app close, it resets.
It's highly recommend to keep journey date as default sorting mode. That makes it clear to view, plan very easily. Thank you)

App is worst and still have issue not solved from past app named as UTS

The app is still facing issues, especially with location detection. There have not been many updates since the last UTS app version. There should be a feature that allows users to reserve tickets directly from the station itself.

Many times, even when the internet signal is full, I am unable to purchase a ticket. I have to wait 15–20 minutes before the app resumes and allows me to buy the ticket. The kiosk machines also fail several times, and again we have to wait 10–15 minutes.

This is not acceptable. There should be an emergency feature that allows users to purchase tickets from the station or even from a running train, at least 10–15 times per user for genuine cases. The app was created to solve problems, but these issues are still causing inconvenience.

If you introduce features like purchasing tickets from the platform or during the journey, not only will it help passengers, but it will also increase ticket sales and revenue.

Please look into these issues and make the necessary improvements.

Worst support

am extremely disappointed with the performance of the RailOne app. The OTP for email verification arrives after almost 30 minutes, and when I enter it, the app shows “OTP mismatched.” This makes the verification process impossible to complete.
I had booked my ticket through IRCTC online, but since I was unable to print it, I tried accessing it through the RailOne app. However, the app continuously shows errors even raised concerns they closed it. I am also unable to get proper support through the app.
When I called 139, the IVR initially spoke in my preferred language, but when the call was transferred to a customer support representative, they spoke in a different language. When I requested assistance in my comfortable language, they did not attempt to transfer the call and instead asked me to call 139 again and change the menu options.
Overall, the experience has been very frustrating and inconvenient.

Serious App Stability & Payment Issues

I’m extremely disappointed with the app experience. The payment feature is not working properly, and the app keeps getting stuck on the loading screen during transactions. This makes it unreliable and frustrating to use.

In 2026, basic features like secure login and smooth payment processing should work seamlessly. Stability, proper testing, and user experience clearly need serious improvement.

Please fix these core issues before pushing further updates. Users expect a functional and dependable platform.

Allow changing of boarding station from the station which is before the current boarding station

IRCTC should allow changing the boarding station to an earlier stop as well. Currently, if a ticket is booked from Jodhpur, it is not possible to change the boarding point to Jaisalmer even when the train starts from there. The app only shows stations that come after the original boarding station, which is very inconvenient when travel plans change or when passengers want to board from a previous stop on the same route.

This limitation forces users to cancel and rebook tickets, often with cancellation charges and the risk of losing confirmed seats. Since the train already passes through the earlier station, the system should provide an option to update the boarding point accordingly, subject to availability.

Kindly consider adding this feature to make the service more flexible and user-friendly.

A Complete Failure in Basic Passenger Services

The RAILONE app is extremely poorly designed and fails to provide even basic functionality. I faced serious difficulty in locating the option to book Mumbai local tickets, which was easily available in the UTS app. There is no visible or intuitive option, forcing passengers to waste time explaining themselves to ticket collectors due to the absence of a proper ticket interface.

Additionally, the Rail Madad complaint feature is equally dysfunctional. The complaint submission process does not work properly, and the character limitation severely restricts customers from clearly explaining their issues. If a customer is dissatisfied, they must be allowed to describe the problem in detail so it is properly understood. Unfortunately, the so-called customer support staff appear to lack even basic knowledge of the railway system and are unable to guide customers on where or how to register complaints related to issues faced during travel.

The newly launched RAILONE app is highly disappointing and nowhere close to being customer-friendly. At the very least, it should have retained the same options and usability as the older app instead of making essential services difficult to access. Based on my experience, I am extremely dissatisfied and am giving the RAILONE app a very poor rating.

booking process for users applying under the disability concession

Hi Team,

I appreciate the effort that has gone into building a thoughtful and user-friendly app — it has great potential to make travel more accessible and inclusive.

I am writing to highlight an important issue in the current booking process for users applying under the disability concession category.

While I am able to apply the concession for myself without difficulty, the app does not provide any option to add additional family members to the same booking at that stage. This limitation forces users to start a separate booking for family members, which often leads to technical blocks, loss of concession benefits, or charging of full fare — creating unnecessary inconvenience and financial burden.

This design gap particularly affects differently-abled users who commonly travel with family members, making the experience frustrating rather than supportive.

I kindly request your team to consider the following improvements:

- Allow a primary passenger to book under disability concession while
- Enabling the addition of family members in the same transaction at regular or applicable fares, as was possible in earlier versions of the app.

With many families planning travel in the coming months, implementing this feature would significantly enhance usability, fairness, and accessibility for a large number of users.

I would appreciate an update on whether this concern is being reviewed and what steps are being considered to resolve it.

Thank you for your attention and continued efforts toward making the app more inclusive.

Unable to book Tatkal in last 2-weeks for senior citizens medical treatment

Dear One Rail Team,

Please consider the following points regarding my recent experience with Tatkal ticket booking:
• I was trying to book Tatkal tickets for my parents (age 68) for a medical emergency.
• Despite booking exactly at the opening time with an excellent network, I could only get waitlisted tickets within the first minute.
• It has become extremely difficult to get confirmed seats, even when the waiting list is as low as WL 4–5.
• Multiple quota categories appear to be misused, reducing the availability of seats for the general public.
• Due to this misuse, genuine passengers—including senior citizens and those with medical emergencies—are unable to secure confirmed tickets.
• I request the Railway authorities to review all quota systems and discontinue unnecessary quotas.
• Only essential quotas, such as for medical emergencies and critical government duties, should be retained and strictly monitored.

Kindly consider these points and take necessary steps to make the booking system more fair and transparent.

Superstar

The RailOne App is a really useful and reliable platform for train travelers across India. It offers a smooth booking experience with a simple and clean interface that’s easy to navigate even for first-time users. You can easily check train schedules, seat availability, and get instant updates on live train status and PNR information. One of the best features is its quick and secure payment process along with real-time notifications about delays or platform changes. The app also provides fare comparisons, alternate train suggestions, and even offline access to certain details — which is super helpful during travel. Overall, RailOne makes planning and managing train journeys effortless, saving both time and stress. A must-have app for anyone who travels frequently by train! 🚆✨

Regarding refund (scam)

I’ve never been this frustrated with an app before. I used the Rail One app to purchase a ticket, but when I encountered an issue, I tried to reach out to them for a refund. Their refund policy is already unclear and restrictive, but what’s worse is that after sending multiple emails and trying to get in touch through the app’s support channels, I’ve received absolutely no response. It's as if they just ignore their customers once they’ve got their money.

I even called their support line, but of course, no one picked up. It’s completely unacceptable. The app itself is unreliable, constantly freezing and crashing, but it’s the lack of any support or accountability from their side that really pushed me to write this review. If they can’t even respond to basic refund inquiries, how can I trust them with anything else?

At this point, I feel completely scammed. I won’t be using Rail One again, and I highly recommend anyone looking for a smooth and reliable app to look elsewhere. It’s clear Rail One doesn’t care about its customers once the transaction is made.

Really Good app but major issues!!

The app is really good I must say. Clean, user friendly and modern UI, and giving access to all the information you need your train app should help you with like from booking tickets to tracking live train status and many more!! BUT I am facing a real deal issue on my iPhone is whenever accessing the app for more than 5 minutes it’s making my phone hot like a frying pan!!! I was checking live status of a local train and for that I had to remove my phone case to cool my phone down after around 7 to 8 minutes of use!! This issue really needs to fixed. Thanks anyway for such good informative app though.

Overall app experience is very nice

I must start with some very good praise for CRIS who developed this amazing app. It really brings many services within one app as the name suggests. Thank you for doing this work.

I would like to bring the attention of developers on a bug which is in reserved ticket booking form.
On the screen where we enter passenger details for booking, over there in the contact no. field, by default the registered mob no. (in masked format) of the IRCTC user appears, however, there is an option to edit it for the cases when travelling passengers don’t include the IRCTC registered account owner. But when the contact no. is edited, and the travelling passenger mob number is provided in the field, after that when the cursor moves to the next field, the passenger mob no. automatically default backs to the IRCTC account owner’s registered mob no. This has happened with me in the last 3-4 times when I tried to book the ticket for my parents and one of my friends

I request CRIS (developers) to look into this bug and resolve it at the earliest within next update pls. Thank you so much

Improved UX.. But

The new RailOne app is a convenient all-in-one platform for your rail travel needs. However, there's a great opportunity for improvement. After booking a ticket, it would be extremely helpful to have a quick and easy way to find the coach position and track that specific train.

While these features are available on the main page, it's a hassle to re-enter your details. A much better solution would be for the app to automatically pull your booking information so you can access these features with just one tap. Implementing this would significantly enhance the user experience.

Seamless Service

I really admire, appreciate and congratulate IRCTC which evolved from past to meet the challenges of ever changing Information Technological era and in providing seamless service . They really compete with major IT solution providers . The heartbeat of India’s Travel connects each and every part of India with affordable prices . Kudos to Railway Ministry and Railways. I request Ministry to use Social Media to educate Traveler’s How to use Eco Friendly items to be used while travelling and alps 1 minute Reels on several facilities and on to use the trains to bring Pride to India. Painful to see the scattered Non Eco friendly wastages on entire Rail Lines and makes us feel very bad citizens in front of World
