This isn’t a free app with in-app purchases. It’s more like an interactive ad for a white noise machine. It only works for a few minutes, shutting off shortly after the lock screen kicks in, regardless of how much time you set on the app’s session timer.
Not sure why anyone would subscribe to this. Not even clear if it works, and even if it does, you’re just paying rent for white noise. I guess fools and their money are soon parted though.

저렴하면서 퀄리티 좋은 앱
1년 구독 10,000원 대인데 정말 잘 쓰고 있어요. 유튜브로 빗소리를 틀면 광고도 나오고 프리미엄이어도 다른 동영상을 보고 싶어져 불편하더라구요. 심플하게 딱 켜고 자기 너무 좋아요. 추천합니다.
Potentially Great
I have both versions of Windy and the amazing Thunderspace from this developer. I went so far as to try to use the Thunderspace/remote fan wind system several years ago, which was a brilliant concept but, I gather, too expensive to survive. But this new app…It sounds great, and I might even be willing to pay $60 to buy it (that’s what I came in prepared to do after reading the reviews). But as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. I can see that for, say, a yoga studio, or some other commercial establishment. But playing it out, spending $600 over ten years for this…when I still have Thunderspace for whatever it cost, wouldn’t be very responsible. Thunderspace is amazing, and worth a one-time $50 to me today. It’s too bad it’s been deep sixed by the dev.

Nice that you tried the wind system in Thunderspace. You’re right about the long-term cost comparison. Rainlayer is priced to support ongoing development, updates, and maintenance. Die App ist sehr einfach und funktional aufgebaut. Man navigiert recht schnell und ohne Umwegen durch die Sounds, welche Qualitativ sehr hochwertig sind. Wer Entspannung und gute Soundqualität sucht, wird hier fündig.

You were better off with thunder space
Honestly this apps gimmick of moving a cursor around for different rain sounds is really cool and creative. However there’s no guidance on it, there needs to me some kind of guidance on the map. For instance the higher you go the louder and heavier the rain becomes while you go right the faster and higher pace it becomes while the opposite is reverse. Or at least something like Thunderspace where the colors can at least help you track what your listening too.
Honestly I don’t know why you stop working on Thunderspace but i would’ve kept developing that app cause that app was great. You could have added DLC’s to it aswell! Like you get 10 more rain recordings for 15$ and just kept adding more and kept developing the app. Also this app used Thunderspace as a base for it. So yea if you wanted more money people would be FAR less upset that you updated there current app and not replaced it then asking for more money.

Anscheinend wurden nun alle bisherigen Tonaufnahmen in einer einzigen App recycelt. Ich meine, besonders viel aus den Szenen von Thunderspace herauszuhören.

Alle Aufnahmen in Rainlayer sind neu und wurden in keiner meiner anderen Apps verwendet. Rainlayer 2 unterstützt nun auch AirPlay.

Asked to sub for $60!!! before you even get a chance to use the app and see what it even does. Then you can listen for 10 seconds before asked to sub again. Bye!

Actually false. You can try it free for > 30 minutes without even committing to a free trial that would translate into a subscription. Furthermore there is a significantly cheaper option. Rainlayer is certainly not for everyone.

G’day Franz! Great sounds and it looks pretty! Very confused by the interface and the subscription style - are new sounds getting released? New features? How do I remember a sound combination I like? This is very minimal!

Ich nutze Rainlayer täglich zum konzentrierten Arbeiten am Mac, sowie nächtlich zum einschlafen auf meinem iPhone. Die Soundqualität und der räumliche Eindruck mit Kopfhörern ist hervorragend. Manchmal nutze ich Rainlayer auch mit meinem Bluetooth Lautsprecher, was absolut einwandfrei funktioniert. Die Benutzeroberfläche wurde für das iPhone optimiert, und funktioniert dennoch reibungslos auf dem Mac. Was ich mir noch wünschen würde wäre ordentlich viel Donner in 3D, da ich Gewitter liebe. Wer höchste Qualitätsansprüche hat, der ist bei Rainlayer genau richtig. Absolut kein Vergleich zu anderen Regen Apps!

Over priced
I liked the original Windy, before it became Windy Pro, and the others that came after it didn’t appeal to me. The gimmick of moving a button around for different sounds didn’t do anything, never could find the same experience as before. Maybe I just like the sound of wind? Now we have a rain and thunderstorms with the same moving button, but at a very expensive subscription. I tried it for one evening, but no….. I will listen to the first Windy, when times were less greedy it seems, although I see that the original has been removed, leaving new buyers no option but to buy the more expensive apps. Well …all good things come to an end.
