About
Rambledump is a capture app that never asks you to file anything.
Open it, write the thought, close it. No folder to pick, no tag to choose, no template to fill. The sorting happens afterwards, on its own.
WRITE NOW, ORGANISE NEVER
Most note apps make you decide where something goes at the exact moment you are least able to decide — the moment you are trying not to lose the thought. Rambledump removes that step entirely. Every note lands in one stream, and classification happens in the background.
YOUR NOTES ARE FILES
Each note is a plain Markdown file in your own iCloud Drive, in a folder you can open in the Files app. Not a database, not a proprietary export. You can read them, back them up, move them to another tool, or hand the whole folder to an AI to analyse — with or without this app, now or in ten years.
Each file carries its own context: when it was written, where it came from, how it was captured. That is what makes an archive answerable later instead of being a pile of undated text.
ON-DEVICE AI, NO ACCOUNT
Classification and text tidying run with Apple Intelligence on your device. No account, no key, no subscription, nothing sent anywhere.
ASK YOUR ARCHIVE
Chat lets you ask questions across everything you have written — what you decided, what you kept returning to, what you said you would do. Chat uses your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, so you pay that provider directly and the app is not in the middle. It is optional; the rest of the app works without it.
CAPTURE FROM ANYWHERE
Share sheet, widget, Siri, and the Action button. Attach photos. Share a web page and the text comes with it.
FINDING THINGS AGAIN
Full-text search, automatic tags, a timeline, and checkboxes gathered into one list so open loops stop hiding inside old notes.
MAC TOO
The same archive, the same files, on iPhone, iPad, and Mac through iCloud.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
No account. No analytics. No tracking. No crash reporting. There is no server behind this app — your notes sit in your iCloud and nowhere else.
