Fast
App setup was a breeze, with a quick scan of my state issued ID and then a selfie (I mean, who can’t take a selfie these days?!). I was instantly verified in the app. At a school event, I was able to bypass the long parent line and head straight to the door, where a scanner scanned my phone and allowed me to enter the event. So convenient!
I read reviews of a data breach, and then did a simple online search to discover there was no breach. In 2024 a security researcher found an unsecured database, told raptor’s company representatives about it, and raptor had it secured the next day. There was also no evidence of third party access to the unsecured database.

Garbage
This app has so little information you could delete it and nothing would change. Doesn’t let you know anything when picking up your child. If I could rate it zero stars I would.
Does not work at all
I don’t which company from which country designed this. But it doesn’t work. Pain for everyone. Time to resist this app.
Deletion
Raptor Technologies collects your personal data : name, date of birth, partial license number, and photo, every time you visit your child’s school, yet deliberately excludes visitor data from their public facing privacy policy. When I contacted them directly to understand how long my data is retained and to request deletion, they deflected me back to the school district.
The school deflected me back to them. Meanwhile, in January 2024, Raptor exposed over 4 million records: including visitor driver’s license data
, in an unsecured cloud database with no password protection. There is no publicly stated fixed retention period for your data, no transparency about third party sharing, and no straightforward path to deletion. This app is installed in schools across the country and parents are given no meaningful choice but to comply. Every parent scanning their license at a school front desk deserves to know exactly what they are consenting to and right now, Raptor makes sure you cannot easily find out.

Not intuitive
Slow to work, if there is more than 1 person trying to enter it just mucks up everything and is expensive for the schools.
Could Not Complete Set Up!
Wish I had read the reviews before even attempting to sign up. Tried 4 times to get past the selfie step with no luck. It did scan my DL……now I wish it had not!!!
You school district paid for this?
I have no idea why my school district restricted paid for a product and program that makes it harder to pick up my child after school. There was no problem with me picking up my child. Now they want a bunch of my information which obviously is likely to be leaked based on previous review reviews of this product. I honestly wish I didn’t have a smart phone so I could tell these people who fought this was a brilliant idea that I can’t use it. Furthermore, the Internet inside my child’s school is spotty, making this not work well. I’m sure somebody checked that out before coming up with this absolutely idea. They will never admit that they are trying to drive parents, insane, but if they were, they wouldn’t act any different. If you’re reading this review, congrats and you’ve been likely
screwed too.

Selfie doesn’t work
I keep seeing the replies that “this new version is better and you won’t have issues” but what a joke!
I downloaded the app today (5/11/2026) with the supposed new and improved version. I tried to take the selfie at least 30 times. I even pinned my bangs back in case that was the issue. Tried different lighting at multiple angles. Kept getting a processing issue.
I give up trying to set it up; the process is too painful. I’ll just have to pull out my license every time I pick my child up. It’s not like it’s that big of a deal to do so.

doesn’t work
I tried like 20 times to get it accept my selfie and it kept saying it didn’t match. Not really sure how to look more like myself, but this app isn’t buying that I’m the same person as the one on my driver’s license and now I can’t go to my kid’s science fair. so that’s not awesome.
Useless
Can’t even create an account. Keeps saying “server issues” for the past six weeks.
Doesn’t work properly
Numerous attempts to scan my license and take the selfie to confirm. Each time the app failed to function properly. Waste of time. Given these problems, makes me suspicious about how secure personal data is kept.
Junk
Signed in and the very next time it acts like I’m new and can’t even send any verification or even sign in now. Junk app.
History of Data Leaks
Just do a quick search on this company and see the problems they have had with huge amounts of personal information on students being available to the public. Now the CEO is selling personal information to... well probably not someone you would send your kids photo and SSN to. The privacy risk of this software is well beyond the reasonable issues it addresses. I wish schools would stop buying this snake oil with our children's information.

Worthless
Can’t even use the app because every time a take a selfie to verify, it doesn’t process.
Can’t Get It To Work
Just like the title says, I can’t get the app to work. ID scan went smoothly, but it would not take my selfie (all 23 attempts!!) due to a “processing error”or simply not being able to verify my face. I have tried troubleshooting to no avail. Like others here have said, I’m glad my child’s school is taking security seriously! I just wish it was with an app that was actually made properly.

Facial match doesn’t work
I’d like to say I got to use the app, but I can’t even get it to start working! The dumb thing won’t even match my selfie to my drivers license! Terrible piece of garbage.
Does not work right
Yet another app that some salesman sold a school district that has poor functionality and poor support. That scans all our data so it's on another database in another place making it unsafe. Every couple years someone talks a school district into a new app that we have to re-download re-sign in create IDs for and then that company closes down or merges with another because it's garbage and then our IDs and our information is on another database somewhere in the cloud waiting to get stolen. Create an your account scan your ID or manually enter cool I'll manually enter no that's not good enough must scan your drivers license scan it over and over and over again even though I don't want to but I want to support my kid at school it doesn't upload oh it's wrong try positioning at this try doing that try doing this no fix your broken app. Or don't I just wait a year or two until your funding runs out and then re-create it under a different name under a new company ID with new funding probably from a grant that taxpayers pay for. I walk up to school show my ID to the school they let me in I don't need your app. Now if more intelligent in common sense people worked at the schools to keep from falling for this stuff or are there kickbacks involved?

ID scan fail
I tried scanning my DL for half an hour and it wouldn’t accept it. There was no way to see what the picture looked like to see what the problem was. My ID isn’t damaged, I changed the lighting, I blocked the light so there wasn’t a glare, etc. I’m an online student and have to scan my DL all the time for proctored tests so it felt ridiculous. It’s also stupid that we can’t just take the photo and then upload it.

Garbage
Great idea, but when you picture your ID clear, at least 10x, and it doesn’t accept, what’s the point?
Horrible app
Will not accept my "selfie". I've tried at least 50x and it rejects it every time. Reasons, I don't look like my DL, your app doesn't recognize me, shows that I have glasses, hat or a mask on. It shouldn't be this hard. Because i can't use the app, I now have to stand in line at my grandkids school and sign in the old fashion way.
