Fail

I’m shocked that Rhulman created this, it’s missing SO much. No grains, legumes, rice, pasta. Also, it gives the option to “create your own ratio” but only gives you a prefilled dropdown list of ingredients, you are unable to fill in your own. Useless and now I’m out $4.99!

No search function

Hiya, I know it’s not a huge list to look through manually but how’s about a search function? Also, it would be ideal to have some ratios in here for cooking different kinds of rice, lentils, la la la.

Not bad

Great for ratios and conversion but no way to save recipes.

Recipes & Ratios

Great app for on the fly cooking. Read the book to get the most from the app. I weigh the eggs in a bowl as well as the liquid, like milk or cream. When using the volumne setting, I place the eggs in a measuring cup to prepare the dish. Weighing is more accurate for large portions. Volume is easier for home cooks fixing dinner. It's a handy tool to have.

Good. Needs pizza dough

Seems to be comprehensive. But it really needs pizza dough in the app.

No need for recipes, I’ve got ratios!

Highly recommend you read the book Ratio to understand how great this app is. Knowing basic ratios allows you to cook on the fly, to tweak dishes and make them your own. Example: rice. Liquid to dry rice 2:1. I’ll make a chicken &sausage jambalaya with two cups of rice. I’ll need 3.5 cups liquid plus the .5 cup liquid the onions, bells and celery will throw off. I’ll sauté up a pound each chicken and sausage, sweat the vegs and the stock, and the rice. Ka-BOOM!

Chef Jim

This an excellent cheat sheet. Works very well.

Loved the book

Nice app that has the book published ratios. Very convenient

Back in action

Solid app and information.

Recent update killed it

(iPod 5th gen)
Just updated this & now all of the categories are blank. I was about to use it to make bread, but saw the update & opted to do that first. Wish I hadn't.

Very little here here

Five dollars? You could fit the information this app contains on a double sided, letter sized sheet of paper with 12 point type. I like the concept and it has its uses. But for $5 I'd like to see how these ratios adapt to different dietary requirements, or something a little more encyclopedic in its scope. For one thing, it's extremely French classical in its viewpoint. Wish I'd read the reviews prior to purchasing.

👎🏻

Complete waste of money. Don't bother with this app.

Book and app are amazing

The book is exactly as described - a truly brilliant tool for any home (or other) chef. Fantastic if you love to experiment and create rather than just following a path.
Highly recommend app too as a short cut tool in the kitchen. Feel like cookies, muffins? Just bash some up. Throw in whatever you like - everything is perfect every time.
I LOVE this app and book. Many thanks. Recommend it to everyone.

Expecting a little more

I have this book and I thought there'd be a little more to the app, little skimpy for the price.

Disappointment

Too expensive for what you get in this app. I expected more from the brand.

This is an ok baking app

But overall it's too limited for the price. I used it for a couple months and then deleted it from my iphone.

Average

Bad UI. Not all ratio's are correct which is annoying. Purchased it as a quick reference due to my career as a chef. Highly disappointed.

Unimpressed

Too minimal for a $5 app. I regret this purchase.

Can't really customize

The first thing I wanted to do was to make a ratio for coffee, but "coffee" isn't an ingredient and you can't add custom ingredients. It also kept defaulting me to 20tbs and 12oz instead of 1tbs and 6oz like I kept attempting. Not sure what's going on here but I'm pretty bummed that I spent $6 on this app instead of a latte. ): Maybe the preset ratios will come in handy this weekend for cooking food rather than brewing joe.

Disappointed

Without the ability to save a custom ratio or recipe with anything other than the default value, this app has little value. The concept is great but the QA on the stated functionality gives it one star
