Yet Another Empty Events App
This is one of the most predictable apps I have seen in years.
Ravvoo is the classic “I just graduated and want to make an app for parties and meeting people” idea. Discover events near you, post your own with a few photos, approve attendees, group chat, tabs for what you are hosting and attending. Every single one of those features already exists, and most of them have existed for a long time.
Meetup has been doing local events, groups, RSVPs, and chat since 2002. Facebook Events still has the biggest real audience for anything social and local. Partiful already owns casual parties and happy hours with cleaner invites and less friction. Eventbrite handles public discovery and hosting. Luma covers the modern community side. The list goes on.
There is nothing here that is new. The feed will be empty in most cities because the people who actually throw parties and go out already use the apps that have density. Cold-starting another events marketplace against platforms that already have the users is a hard way to learn about network effects.
The copy is pure template language. “Ultimate social event app.” “Never miss out.” “Connect with likeminded people.” “Create unforgettable memories.” It reads like every other failed or mediocre social events app that launched in the last decade.
If you want to find things to do or host something small, the tools already exist and work better because people are already on them. This one is just another empty room with an interface.

Yesssss!
Really enjoying this app so far. It’s refreshing to have a social platform to meet new people and find new things to do in my area, even when traveling - without it being a dating app. It brings people together in a genuine and social way.
