Red flags

I tried it out of curiosity. First, there’s misinformation in the description. For example, Sigma fp (which I own) already outputs CinemaDNG natively, and in fact does NOT output ProRes RAW! While you can send fp’s 12-bit raw stream over HDMI into say Atomos, the resulting ProRes RAW would be encoded by Atomos, not by fp, so selling “support for Sigma fp ProRes RAW” for $80 is extra sketchy and makes me wonder how many other slips like that are made. Second, it immediately starts making multiple requests to online third-party analytics services, which you wouldn’t expect an app designed to just convert raws from A to B to do on its first launch, without any opt-in or forewarning.

Fantastic app with great updates

Been using this program since 2023 and love the updates and how quickly the devs take feedback.

One feature I'd LOVE to have would be the ability to "trim" a clip with in and out points, giving us the ability for even smaller file sizes should we need it on those constant roll takes waiting for the shot to happen.

Response from developer

This functionality was added in the latest version (5.0.0).

Skips Frames

When converting pro res raw to dng especially the ones that are longer than 10 seconds, the results often times end up having skipped frames towards the end. Developers please fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response from developer

We are not aware of any such issue. However, the 10-second duration you mentioned roughly corresponds to the 300-frame limit in the demo version, which is expected behavior. If this is not the case and you have a purchased license, please contact us via email so we can quickly resolve the issue for you. Thank you!

So far...a great product!

I have not completed a full workflow with it yet in davinchi but the program itself is fast and very easy to use. The quality seems to be superb.

GH7 Prores Raw Issue

After purchasing this app I'm getting a prompt to pay $79.99 for a GH7 licence to convert Prores Raw ro CDNG and after contacting support this was the reponse Hello,
RawConvertor is independent software and you pay a license to use the software that converts Prores RAW to cDNG.

Best,
Nikolaj
That was not my issue and my other emails were not answers or just being ignored.
