Needs support for iPhone 17 Pro Max
Not working
Good concept terrible execution
Can not use without subscription trial
Would be much less user/consumer hostile to have a free version that limits resolution or adds a watermark.
Contrary to what the developer said in the response, the app starts by showing a dialog that cannot be dismissed. The user is given an option to sign up for a free trial or make a one/time purchase. There seems to be no way to dismiss this dialog and have a time-limited low resolution or watermarked option.
And yes, I am reviewing the correct app.
Response to the company’s second response:
Wow, first I must be reviewing the wrong app and now I don’t know how the App Store works. Man, I must sure be dumb, huh?
I wonder if that same 99.99% of your community thinks you should be spending your time sending rude and pedantic App Store responses to App Store reviews instead of improving the product.
And hey, if a low resolution free version (like you apparently used to offer based on the review from 8/22/24 suggests) isn’t an option, there are also options like limiting record times to a few seconds so that someone can check back again in the future if they didn’t like it at first when downloading it.
Whatever it is, your tone/responses make me feel that I made an excellent choice in not paying you anything. Keep up the good work!
Response from developer
Hi Eats Too Much Jam, please note: no one is "forced to purchase a subscription to even try it." I realize perhaps you are new to Apple's App Store so here's a quick overview. The only real way Apple allows indy developers to offer their full featured apps, for free and for a limited time, is with something called "free trials." The reason they're called "free trials" is two-fold: 1) they're free; 2) it's a trial before a subscription kicks in. Offering a sub-standard version - at terribly low resolutions, and then worse even still, with an ugly watermark, 24 times a second, would be something we have no plans on offering. First, 99.999% of our community wants us to focus to making RAW cinema at the highest resolutions, not the lowest. They love to look at big RAW images, zoom in, grade and design looks and view on big screens. Second, creating a separate capture engine, to fulfill your desire to have a watermark on all of your images, would actually be impossible. You see a watermark image is processed, a RAW image or image sequence is unprocessed. Thanks, srRAW Team
