Needs support for iPhone 17 Pro Max
Not working
Good concept terrible execution
Can not use without subscription trial
Would be much less user/consumer hostile to have a free version that limits resolution or adds a watermark.
Contrary to what the developer said in the response, the app starts by showing a dialog that cannot be dismissed. The user is given an option to sign up for a free trial or make a one/time purchase. There seems to be no way to dismiss this dialog and have a time-limited low resolution or watermarked option.
And yes, I am reviewing the correct app.
Response to the company’s second response:
Wow, first I must be reviewing the wrong app and now I don’t know how the App Store works. Man, I must sure be dumb, huh?
I wonder if that same 99.99% of your community thinks you should be spending your time sending rude and pedantic App Store responses to App Store reviews instead of improving the product.
And hey, if a low resolution free version (like you apparently used to offer based on the review from 8/22/24 suggests) isn’t an option, there are also options like limiting record times to a few seconds so that someone can check back again in the future if they didn’t like it at first when downloading it.
Whatever it is, your tone/responses make me feel that I made an excellent choice in not paying you anything. Keep up the good work!

Hi Eats Too Much Jam, please note: no one is "forced to purchase a subscription to even try it." I realize perhaps you are new to Apple's App Store so here's a quick overview. The only real way Apple allows indy developers to offer their full featured apps, for free and for a limited time, is with something called "free trials." The reason they're called "free trials" is two-fold: 1) they're free; 2) it's a trial before a subscription kicks in. Offering a sub-standard version - at terribly low resolutions, and then worse even still, with an ugly watermark, 24 times a second, would be something we have no plans on offering. First, 99.999% of our community wants us to focus to making RAW cinema at the highest resolutions, not the lowest. They love to look at big RAW images, zoom in, grade and design looks and view on big screens. Second, creating a separate capture engine, to fulfill your desire to have a watermark on all of your images, would actually be impossible. You see a watermark image is processed, a RAW image or image sequence is unprocessed. Thanks, srRAW Team
Amazing Video Quality
No test

Hi Eat Too Much Jam, hmmm, we’re not sure if you left your review for the correct app? Contrary to what you stated, no one is forced to purchase anything to try out srRAW Cinema Camera. Thanks, srRAW Team
Ease of use
What gives?
I also got an email from the developer maybe a month ago asking if I wanted to beta test version two of the app, to which I replied “sure!”, only to never hear from him again, even after a follow up email from me asking what’s going on with that.
I’m sorry, this app just seems like a money grab. If you want raw video, best to go with Motioncam Pro on that alternate ecosystem (that shall not be named here). 1080p resolution and no ability to record to external SSD is just too limiting for the price.

Hi Brian, thanks for the feedback! I believe a build was sent to you? I realize it was sent a few days after your 1-star review. We had to first put together a framework for the srRAW+ Build Program which took a little longer than expected. Apologies. srRAW 1.2 has just been released and now supports many more iPhones, including the latest and greatest as well as more resolutions (the most are supported on 16 Pro's so you're good there). We'd be happy to make up for the missed time on your 16 Pro with an extension, please let us know via cine.ma. Just a quick clarification point regarding saving files to SSD. Currently, the only permitted file format that a camera can save to disk is DCIM. CinemaDNGs is a different type of format. To have a native "plug n grade" workflow, without say a desktop app to convert DCIM to CinemaDNG file format, which would be similar but much faster than Motioncam's transcoding desktop app (I believe as I've only looked at their transcoded CinemaDNGs), it isn't currently possible. Most of our community's preference is to have the fastest end to end workflow. Best practice if someone needs to use an external, is to record to internal and then simply tap "Files->Move folders" to an external SSD whenever they need to free up space. It takes a few seconds to do. Saves battery too. Thanks, srRAW Team
WRF!
Cool idea in theory
In practice app is lazily thrown together and missing basic video app features which make it completely impractical to use. Dev seems to have a trend of these demo concept apps that never get any polish, polish they really need for the price.
Also has to wildly crop in your video, 0.5x looks like 1x, 1x looks like 3x zoom, etc
Just shoot in prores using literally any other app that can and you’ll have a better experience
Update please
Good app, needs more features however
Great promise but underwhelming
Max of 1080p is fine but 4K would be nice.
Currently this feels overpriced and underbaked. Only time will tell whether it is a one trick pony or a powerful filmmaking tool.
Finally an app made for filmmakers!
I can’t wait to use this more and see where this takes me and my work.
Thank you for making this!!!
