2 year wait and a huge flop
Was waitlisted for TWO YEARS. Had to email them to see why this was even an issue as I have a great job, a solid social presence and attractive. Once I get in the filtering is non existent, you pay a premium just to use the service and it doesn’t even show you a persons height. Most people want to network. Lots of people that don’t live in your city and LIMITED pools to sift through that are refreshed daily probably cause the pool is tiny. A total scam. At least you have a benefit to paying for Grindr and hinge is actually solid at finding suitable people. Raya is an absolute scam.

Still waitlisted
I’ve been on the waitlist since November 2024. Heard this app was better than others and it’s more intentional however after almost 2 years and still waitlisted I’m going to no longer wait… it’s just an app taking up space on my phone
Handsome men, but
I’ve been using Raya for a while now, and I have to say, the men are undeniably handsome—definitely a step above the quality you see on Hinge or Bumble. That said, the app is missing some crucial fields—no mandatory info on height, relationship goals, kids, or any preferences. Without that, you end up spending a lot of time just trying to figure out basic compatibility. And on top of that, if you want to message anyone, you have to shell out an insane $70 a month, which I think is way too steep. Overall, great potential, but it needs much more structure and value for that price.

Terrible
I’m based in the UK, I’d say over 75% of the people who Raya recommended were oversees, mostly America. It’s expensive for what it is, I paid for one month then cancelled. Definitely not worth the wait to be approved or the money it costs.
Scam
A complete scam. They force you to pay money (there is no free option) then restrict how many people you can see, and don’t even give you the option to confine your options to local people.
I’m guessing you have to pay them double to be able to use basic functions that are available on other apps.

Waitlisted for over 3.5years
Worst app ever , I’ve been waitlisted for over 3.5 years contacted support to delete application they offered to forward it to team for review. Few weeks later still waitlisted had them delete my application . Useless customer service and waste of time just overall

Not Exclusive with Old Guys Catfishing, scary!
Had an issue while using the app with guys in their mid 70s using FaceApp to edit photos as well as saying they were 15 years younger. When I reported it, twice, I was told that they were escalating the situation.. yet he still remains on the app with his false age. Their verification system is non-existent, they don’t care about it, and anybody can be on Raya with false information. Scary!!!

Like many apps, you’ll get matches but there’s no effort to start or maintain conversation.

Don’t Bother
I’ve been waiting for 2-3 weeks for my application to be reviewed. Which in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous. Do NOT waste your time and effort on an app that doesn’t want you.
Basically instagram but looks like Tinder
I’ve been on this app for almost 2 years and it kind of feels like Instagram but stagnant profiles. i’ve matched with celebrities and people that have a pretty good job in the entertainment industry, but the offers of dates are either going to their house and getting drunk or for some reason people wanting me to go into a Jacuzzi and drink with them. I had one man harassing me when he got my Instagram and wouldn’t stop trying to peer pressure me into going to his Jacuzzi. The other issue is that none of the UI is working like I can’t change my age range settings. It’s very clunky and confusing. it’s also saying my email doesn’t exist, which doesn’t make any sense. there’s also some people I’ve already seen that are on hinge that are also on this app. I really wish they would have a better UX design. For those who can’t seem to get on, just know that you’ll be seeing the same people probably on the other apps. Also, it might just be easier to DM people on Instagram if you’re interested in them or met irl. and as always, make sure you get tested, heard some horror stories of people off this app having STDs and not disclosing it since they’re “famous”. I wish they had a better screening system for some of these men who are predatory. I’ve matched with some cool people but it just didn’t really lead anywhere. Also there’s some aggressive men I didn’t even want to match with who tried to get up into my DMs which I ended up having to change all my IG settings.
