No Communication, No Transparency, No Respect!
I’ve been on Raya’s waitlist for more than 3.5 years‼️ Despite having 2 referrals, and there is no way to get information about what is happening with an application.
I have contacted their support so many times and received no response or any indication of why I am still waitlisted, whether my application is actually being reviewed, or whether I should expect to hear anything at all. Meanwhile, I regularly hear of people being accepted within hours or days, even without any referrals.
Keeping people in limbo for literally YEARS while providing zero transparency and virtually no customer service is ridiculous. Modern dating 🤣 If someone is not going to be accepted, just say so!
The whole system feels arbitrary, opaque and incredibly disrespectful towards prospective clients. A supposedly exclusive app should be capable of basic communication and customer service.

Not a good UI. Mostly showed me people from other cities before people in my own, and then told me I’ve run out of people. Not sure why you need to create scarcity when I’m paying $25 a month for the privilege of using your lousy platform.

Not worth the hype at all. not a lot of people in the area. Most of the options are in California. And I’m not flying to California to initially figure out if I vibes with somebody.
Please add filters!!

Je travaille dans le cinéma et j'ai une présence en ligne certifiée. Concrètement, ça me ferme l'accès aux applications de rencontre classiques : mes comptes sautent régulièrement parce qu'on me soupçonne d'usurper ma propre identité, et quand ils ne sautent pas, l'attitude des gens change dès qu'ils me reconnaissent ou découvrent mon profil.
Raya est censée exister exactement pour ce type de situation.
J'ai postulé et écrit par mail un nombre incalculable de fois en trois ans. Jamais une seule réponse, pas même un refus.
Pendant ce temps, il suffit d'aller sur TikTok pour voir des utilisatrices acceptées qui assument publiquement venir y chercher des hommes fortunés pour ne plus avoir à travailler, et d'autres qui filment et exposent les personnalités croisées sur la plateforme. Aucune notoriété, aucun rapport avec un milieu créatif, et zéro respect de la confidentialité que l'application met en avant.
Donc les profils qui cherchent un train de vie passent, et une professionnelle du cinéma qui cherche simplement à rencontrer quelqu'un du même milieu, capable de comprendre ce métier, reste sans réponse pendant trois ans.
Le décalage entre le discours et la réalité est total. Très déçue.

Too Expensive for All This Waiting
I really wanted to like Raya, but the swipe limit is honestly ridiculous. You only get to swipe through what feels like 10 or so people before suddenly you’re hit with a wait time, and the wait is SOOOO long. For an app this expensive and supposedly exclusive, we should at least be able to browse through more people before getting locked out.
What makes it even more frustrating is that most of the limited profiles I’m shown aren’t even my type. So I’m basically paying a premium price to swipe through a handful of people I’m not interested in and then wait forever to see more. Either give us more profiles to swipe through, shorten the wait time, or lower the price. The current setup just doesn’t feel worth what we’re paying.

Amazing app, quality people
The people on this app really are interesting and cool! It’s not all celebrities of course, but the quality is visibly very high. It also feels less “algorithm-heavy” than many other platforms.
