Very disappointed
I’m very disappointed with these cameras that they won’t connect to my android phone bought four of them and on the box it’s says that it’s available on apple store or google play me and my husband tried it and it doesn’t work anymore
App crashes, but "Guarding Vision" app is a workaround
November 23, 2025 - The RCA Security app crashes when I attempt to access the live feed on my RCA smart doorbell. Based on a suggestion from another review, I was successfully able to use the app "Guarding Vision" with my RCA doorbell.
Needs Updating
This app needs to be updated. I can’t view the cameras anymore.
App Closes by Itself
The app doesn't work anymore for the new updated iOS. It just atomatically closes when trying to view cameras.
RCA has been integrated into Guarding Vision
Install RCA Security and Guarding Vision.
In RCA Security, create your account and password. Add all your cameras there, but do not attempt streaming, as the app will crash. Once all camera settings are configured in RCA, close the application—but do not uninstall it.
Next, open Guarding Vision and log in using the same username and password you set up in RCA Security. Step by step, add each of your cameras. Voilà!
I’ve noticed that if you rename your cameras in the RCA app, Guarding Vision automatically recognizes those updated settings.
Success—I currently have 8 fully functional cameras, with all features active.

RCA down
Have not been able to use RCA app for YEARS and there have been no updates to fix the issue for iOS users. For this I rate the app a 1 out of 5.
However,
I continue to come back here to see if a new update has been released or if any new “workaround” was found.

Worse than expected
I can’t even check video quality because as soon as I click on the camera the app crashes. 😂 What a joke.
RCA door camera
My RCA security App closes down every time I try to view a recorded video from my RCA door bell camera, and I can’t not view live video. Can someone please look at the problem n advise if it fixable or not .

Horrendous hikvision cameras wrapped with an RCA logo, app hasn’t been updated in half a decade. Literal e-waste shovelware. It’s actually hilarious how bad this product is.

I’ve had an RCA doorbell cam for the last 3-4 years, and like the rest of you, it’s was kind of useless because the app is not been updated for years. I downloaded the Guarding Vision app and it is a great replacement for this POS. You need your QR code, and then log in with your existing username and password. Google “RCA doorbell an Guarding Vision” for more detailed instructions.

Horrible, not been updated since 4 yrs ago
The app crashes in any new device, you can’t use a new phone or a new tablet, only works on the low quality and slow speeds, attempting to contact the developer at the emails provided and they never respond, I attempt to call the number on the box and it was never answer

Unless you like frustration and apps that don’t work then skip this device. It’s a shame really because the hardware worked and was very good. The camera was clear even in the dark but the software controlled the functionality and the software was literally non existent. I’ve had this device for 6 years and the software was always flaky. Now, it simply refuses to work. When you try to launch the app it just spins and closes. Even when it kind of worked it was just annoying because you had to keep redoing things you had already done numerous times. Save yourself the headache and just don’t.
