Every book lover needs this app
I love this app! The layout feels a little haphazard but I hope it gets better as the app develops over time, or maybe I’m just not used to it😆
Just what I need, but…
I love to scroll through the perfect bite-size reviews, but I have yet to figure out how to see an entire gist. The longer ones cut off. Clicking on it just brings me to the book info.
I really like being able to add my books to the “up next” list and the ability to change the order simply by dragging the book cover into a new position.

Can’t get past the intro
I’ve tried repeatedly to get past the intro or sign up, but can’t. It keeps taking me to a page that simply says “Let’s get more specific!” with nothing to click, and it won’t move past this page. Annoying.
Almost perfect
I really enjoy this app. Just a few things I’d like to see.
1. Transferring lists from Goodreads (it only transfers over your “read” books) - I would like the capability to transfer over lists as that’s how I keep track of my Library
2. Ability to edit mistakes in the book info - such as incorrect author spellings, other misspellings, incorrect book titles, and wrong or low quality book covers (perhaps having volunteer libraries like in Goodreads?)
3. Having start and finish dates on books
4. A chat function

Great alternative to Goodreads!
I love the simplicity of this app and now that they’ve added the ability to add dates and additional tracking it is becoming my go to tracking app.
Some problems
Really like this app and the style of it, however even with Premium, I cannot figure out how to mark books “currently reading” only read or DNF.
So fun!
I love the feature that I can see how likely I am to agree with a user based on what we’ve reviewed so I can find like minded readers. Although it doesn’t deter me from following other uses as well to be exposed to new books. The one thing I don’t love is that there are sometimes multiples of the same book, i’m guessing because multiple users have added the same book to the apps virtual shelves. This makes it hard to figure out which version is the one people often review on and I don’t want to look at multiple locations to see accurate reviews of that book. It’s a minor thing but otherwise I love the app, highly underrated.

So good!
I was avoiding trying this out but it has ticked all of my boxes so far. I’m still testing things out but this could easily be a front runner out of all of my different reading trackers
Almost perfect!!
I really like the details provided on the profile and I love how gists and takes work. It’s really fun to be notified when your thoughts are interesting to others and encourage them to save a book. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I really wish there was a list function of some kind. I’d love to be able to make lists of things like classics I want to get around to, books I’ve already purchased but haven’t read yet, comfort books, etc. I’ve gotten really into making all kinds of lists of movies on letterbox and I like to have something similar on Readerly. Being able to search and look through other readers lists would be so fun too!

Select what you don’t like???
Have any of you read a design book? You break a design trend when it provides something to your user. This just makes them select the wrong thing when they use your app. And you didn’t have the same things available on the different select screens, only the dislike section had my favorite genre. Hope things work out.

Best book app!!!
Totally in love with this app!! I’d recommend it to anyone who’s sat in a Barnes and Noble wondering what to read. The only recommendation I’d make is a way to unlink a goodreads account because mine is linked to the wrong account!
LOVE
extremely user friendly and love the prompts!!
Better than Goodreads
A reader-focused app, with no ties to Amazon and no annoying ads? Yes please!
I joined Readerly today and absolutely love it. I imported my entire (GIANT) goodreads library in less than ten minutes, and I love the rating system.
I "explored" for literally five minutes and found SO MANY books I haven't seen before! And I work in a library! It was so nice to see new things and not just the bestsellers or ~trending~ books.
And I LOVE how easy the interface is. Just pick "save" "hide" or "read" and move right to the next book!
Seriously I am obsessed. Try this app: you won't be disappointed.

Love It!
This app is so good for finding books, it has a way simpler and easier set up to use compared to goodreads and it’s easier to find books and the recommendations it’s giving me are spot on and its so amazing. This app is worth waiting for, I’m so glad I did!
Great app
I love this app, the idea of gists is wonderful keeping things short and sweet. With the most recent update you can import from good reads which is wonderful. The new profile interface looks good and is much better than it was before.
Good app but has a problem.
So readerly is really cool. I like the short but sweet approach that the “gists” encourage but I feel like a big part of the app is locked behind a paywall. That’s generally fine in a lot of apps but I can’t help but feel that in readerly, some of the best features that could really make the app take off... simply are locked behind a subscription. Other than that, I wish you could have a chat option so you could discuss books with your fellow readers. That could turn readerly into not just a review and recommendation centered app... but turn it into a nice social app as well.

Problème
I loved it but I got problems when I write characters descriptions, one description is repeated for every character I add and even if edit it, it doesn’t change .
i’m in love with the premise of this app!
i absolutely love this app’s premise and mission statement and really speaks to the ethos of books — that stories and information and knowledge and art should be free to and owned by all, not hoarded by amazon.
with that being said, my 5 star rating speaks more to how much i believe in this app rather than to my user experience. and it’s not that i’ve had a bad experience at all, i just think there are a few issues they’re still sorting out with the user interface. i do have some feedback for the developers!
1. i think it would be great if you included an option to note whether or not a book is a review copy — AKA, whether it was given to you by the publisher/author in exchange for a review. disclosing when a book was given to you in exchange for a free and honest review is key to maintaining a culture of transparency within the community, and it would be great to have a space to note this without it taking up your gist word count!
2. i would love to be able to switch around the order of posts in my gist draft! sometimes i write out my dislikes/warnings first but then decide i’d rather start out with a “things to know,” i’m unable to switch the order around and have to create a new gist.
thank you creators + developers for all you do!!!

So Far
So far so good!
Excellent but have a few ideas!
Love the app so far, especially with the latest improvements!
A few things I wouldn’t mind: 1.) the ability to organize the slides in a specific order; 2.) can we get a books read counter?
