A great and simple budgeting app
It’s really great for people who budget visually but don’t want to worry about the security or hassle of physical cash. I feel a lot more disciplined using this compared to any other budgeting software I’ve ever used even though it’s the simplest!
Simple and Basic, Just What I Needed
I am really happy with this app. It’s exactly what I needed and so simple. I’m able to set up envelopes with a pay period allotment to each and I can also set up savings envelopes for goals. Being able to transfer between envelopes and having a record with bot capabilities is great. The only complaint I have is not being able to see the notes at a glance when looking at the transaction history but having to go into the transaction to look at notes.

This app is perfect! Perfect. Down to the last minute details! It was exactly what I needed to get back on a path to financial freedom! It really helped me to visualize my budget with the envelopes and focus on what was important and cutting out things that were keeping me in debt but weren’t necessary! 10/10

Amazing budget app!
I was skeptical about it since I’ve been burned by budget apps before, but this is honestly really solid. It came recommended from a family friend. It has helped me get a good idea of how I’m spending my money and helping organize it.

I searched a number of apps before I found this one. Many of them were not very intuitive. This one is intuitive, easy, and gives me everything I need for a budget.
Not only that, but the creator of the app will give you the premium features for free if you email him because you can’t afford them. That is exceptional in the world of money grabbing app Developers.

Simple but helpful
I really love this app I feel like so many budget apps try and have 100 bells and whistles but this is simplistic and minimal and it’s exactly what I need!

A little more than I need
This looks like a very good app, but I do wish there were a version that did not require a budget. We don’t need help with the budget. We just want to be able to check our envelope balances.

i'm so shocked this app hasn't gotten more reviews. i'm a highschool student learning to budget my paychecks and this app has been such a treat to use! the interface and ui design is so clean and seamless, it's easy to use and get started but if you don't know how to do something the instructions in the top right are very helpful and informative. absolutely no ads, and it's not behind a massive paywall! furthermore you can customize your envelopes fonts and background, as well as get analytics which is great.
to the RealBudget team, you guys are so amazing & talented and thank you so much for making an app that can help me as i develop skills in budgeting and personal finance! this is exactly what i needed :))

I love this app! I’ve been looking for a FREE way to set up a budget and this is it! And I love the developer’s commitment to generosity and helping others. There is a premium version of the app that allows a couple of extra social features and to sync across devices (the app is still VERY functional in the free version, which is what I have), and TJ still offers the premium version for free to those who can’t afford it! Simple and exact
Been using many budget apps, but nothing like this one. This is my go to. Perfection so far. I’ll be looking forward to pay this guy for this. Just brilliant.
Simple and Easy
I’ve gone through so many budgeting apps, all of which are touted as “the best on the market”, only to find that they’re hard to use and work through, do so much random automatic processes that I cannot control, and don’t even consider an “envelope” budget system. This app is completely free & super easy to use. There’s no extra fancy BS - it’s just straight forward. Literally just what I’ve been looking for! Sometimes it’s tiny bit tedious going back and forwards between envelope libraries and having to write descriptions for each transaction (would be nice to have a “button” option that we could input a description we want to save for future use if that makes sense??) when doing my budgeting but I’ll take it cos I understand the why behind it and it’s such an amazing app regardless! Thank you!
