Saving Recipes Is A Breeze BUT Retrieving Is Another Story
Recent use of this app has prompted me to update my review from a 5 star to a 1. When I am able to access the recipes, I still love the app. Recently, however, since they “updated”the app, I regularly cannot retrieve a recipe from my recipes but instead get an error message. This is extremely annoying when I’m ready to prepare a meal but cannot access the recipe I am planning to make. The error message says to check the “cloud”. When I check the “cloud”, it shows plenty of storage and the recipe app being saved to the account. This is unacceptable and I am looking for a new recipe app. 😔 August 2026
I love this recipe app! We recently down sized and I went through a lot of my cookbooks and took pictures of the recipes and saved them to the site and donated the cookbooks. It is ideal to be at the grocery store and be able to pull up a recipe to see what ingredients I need to make it. I love that the app sinks with other devices so I can pull up the recipe on my iPad and prepare it. No more hunting through recipe books to find the recipe I want to prepare! It is also easy to add categories to fit my needs. I wanted a category for “Helpful Hints” and it is one of my favorites. 2020

Did not Transfer Properly to New iPhone!
I have tried all of their suggestions to get this app to work with a new iPhone. I’ve tried backups. I’ve tried restart and I keep getting the same error message saying that the document isn’t available. I’ve tried backing up the recipes as a PDF. That also does not seem to work and I cannot find where it might be backing them up to. So after many years are really loving this app I am at my wits’ end.
Then I sent an email and got no response so I guess it’s goodbye to many years of recipe saving.
Absolutely no idea what to do next.

Completely reliant on extremely good Internet service
Creating a recipe is super easy. Opening the recipe is beyond frustrating. If there’s even one cloud in the sky covering the satellite Internet connection it simply won’t open so the app becomes useless.

Saves Recipies
I've been using this app for years. Many of my family and friends also use it. It makes it easy to store and share recipes. It backs them up in the cloud, so if something happens to your phone, your recipes are safe.
Love it but
I loved this app but and it's a big but... I keep getting a message about categories and no matter what I've done it does not fix it. And now I'm getting error messages and tells me it can't open recipes!! NOT happy! I'm afraid to do anything because I have saved a lot of recipes that I'm afraid of losing completely.

No help from devs on anything
Update: App fixed since I posted original issue and works great. I never got any response from the company though. I emailed and asked about program backup in case my iPad craps out and still never got a response. Very unprofessional. I have hundreds of recipes in this app and would hate to loose them.

Suddenly stopped working. I can access I think, but not add any recipes. Maybe there’s a limit ?
It used to paste automatically, if you clicked the option, and I loved that feature. Sad to say it’s gone. Hoping I can continue to access all of the recipes I stored on this app for soooo long. Love the concept.

Great way to save recipes but does not always open
I love inputting recipes and have them all in a format that shows step by step with ingredients listed in bold font at each step. The problem is opening the recipes is hit and miss. Also, if I input a recipe on my phone, it will not always show up on my iPad.

Update 7/6/26: developers fixed the issue with the title page preventing direct import of recipes. Happy camper here with 1,200 recipes in this app!

I’ve been remiss for not writing a review several years ago. I absolutely LOVE this app. I use it every day for menu planning, shopping and, of course, cooking. I love having all my recipes at my fingertips when I’m at the grocery store; makes meal planning and shopping so easy!
In addition, the developers have been responsive about adding new functionality and software fixing bugs. My favorite upgrade, made several years ago, allows me to print a recipe from a website and have it automatically imported into a new recipe in the app. And the resulting recipe retains the link to the original web page, so I can refer back to the author’s notes, tips, and user reviews. Brilliant!
Another feature I use often is the .pdf share feature. When friends ask me to share recipes, it is so easy to do it from my phone.

Love it, buuuuuut
Love the app, except it won’t transfer to another device. I have it on a very old IPad, and when it dies I will loose all my recipes witch number around 700! If there is a work around please let me know.

review of: RECIPE GALLERY - COOK BOOK
I don’t know how I managed even shopping for ingredients for a recipe, until I got this program and installed it onto my phone! I have about 50 years or accumulated recipes, therefore, I am doing a lot of entering at this stage. One of my favorite features of this program is being able to enter your own needed categories, like vegan, dairy free, etc.
