Recycle

I have a question about the sight on bonus and can I just transfer the $13 just on my Amazon Account and also when you get paid what do you get paid through?

Response from developer

After you have a Virtual Recycling balance of at least $18.27, you can transfer all your funds to yourself via any gift card for example Amazon Gift Card, etc or via PayPal, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, etc

I love the app

I love this app. The only thing I’m not to happy about is the charge battery part. I just got 1 volt to charge my battery and it only went up 2%. I liked that it used foot steps to charge the battery.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD

This app is a scam to make think you can earn money but just makes you watch ads which make them earn money

Response from developer

That’s not true

Don’t work

It says I have money to cash out yet when I enter my email and then enter it again, it goes to an ad and it will not let me click off the ad.

Response from developer

Within about 15 seconds after a full-screen ad is displayed, a cross icon is also displayed in either the top-right or top-left corner of the ad. Just tap it to close the ad. If you don’t see it, just wait for a few more seconds. Now that you know how to close the ad, could you please change your one star to five stars? Thanks :-)

Don’t waste your time on this app

They “offer” you a welcome bonus of $13.27. But when I tried to redeem the balance I got an error message saying it was on hold. To the developer: don’t offer a welcome bonus if the user can’t redeem it. False advertising

Response from developer

You probably didn’t read the following statement located towards the very top of the App Description: VERY IMPORTANT Your bonus CAN ONLY be sent to you after your "Transferred" amount displayed in your Account is at least $13.27. Now that you have, could you please change your 2 stars to 5 stars? :-) Thanks

Fraud, probably

This is the most convoluted and poorly designed app I’ve ever seen. The only reasonable explanation is that it’s a poorly disguised ad delivery system. While you scratch your head trying to figure out how you earn money on “virtual recycling”, they are making money by serving you ads after every attempt interaction. UPDATE: It’s so cute that this unhinged “app developer” keeps using the phrase “virtual recycling” as if that means anything at all. And I think what they mean is that they don’t want us to try to figure out how you earn money because it’s pretty obvious there’s no money to be made (except the money they make on ads while you waste your time “virtually recycling”. Oh, and I did try their customer service link and got rude responses there, too, just as they’ve left all over the other reviews. Seriously, how did this trash fire make it into the App Store? I thought Apple had a review process. This one slipped through.

Fortunately for you, the app features a Customer Service button that you can tap and provide Customer Service with your wonderful design ideas. In the meantime, given that you find the app convoluted, we strongly recommend that you use it in “Simple” mode. Just go to the menu, and at the very top, switch on “Simple.” ******************** While you scratch your head trying to figure out how you earn money on “virtual recycling”, they are making money by serving you ads after every attempt[ed] interaction. >>> We apologize that you’ve found it important to scratch your head while using our app. Please note that the app doesn’t require you to figure out how you earn money. All the app requires you to do — if you’re interested in Virtual Recycling — is scan your items by tapping the “Scan” button located on the Home page and then recycle them by tapping the “Recycle” button located in the menu. The reason you find the app convoluted is probably because you’re spending time doing things the app doesn’t require you to do. For example, “figuring out how you earn money.” The app doesn’t require you to figure that out…

Best app ever

Which that will pay you lots of money. I usually do not write reviews but this app is so good I must tell you if you like to make money this app is for you.

Not sure

I really enjoy the motivation behind this app. Nothing else like it that I know of. Unfortunately the app often crashes without any rhyme or reason from what I can understand. The whole interface feels really sketchy though. You also have to wait until you hit $50 to cash out which takes an extremely long time. I’m more than half way there and if I can’t cash out at $50 definitely reporting and leave a real negative review. Here’s hoping this is legit and I can add some faith in humanity.

Update 7/23/21
To the developer - thank you for your response. I’m sorry if I offended you in anyway. Your response seemed quite intense, at least to me. Just want to encourage you to remember that I simply hold an opinion and a lot of your response to my skepticism about the app is difficult to prove there for hard for me to believe. Like I said going to keep plugging along with it and look forward to these new change/ come September. Power to the people you say cash out $50 regularly even with all of the glitches in the app; that’s a lot of consumption but it’s good they are recycling.

Response from developer

We always give detailed or — as you’ve put it: intense — responses to our reviews. The reason is never because we’re offended but rather because we have a strong desire to give the reviewer a glimpse into our mindset. ******************** Power to the people you say cash out $50 regularly even with all of the glitches in the app >>> The app crashes due to third-party software that we use to display ads. We can’t fix the software because we don’t own it. On 07/26/21, we’re going to release a new version of the app with that software removed. We will re-integrate it after the third-party fixes it. ******************** The whole interface feels really sketchy though. >>> We’ve designed our interface to be as simple as possible so that a 4-year-old, a 100-year-old, and anyone else can understand it as soon as they see it. Additionally, this app is available globally: an interface that is easily understandable by certain people in certain parts of the world may not be as easily understandable by certain people in other parts of the world hence the need for absolute simplicity. Opinion: The simpler something is, the sketchier it may appear to some. For example, compare the first car ever made to the best car today. ******************** You also have to wait until you hit $50 to cash out which takes an extremely long time. >>> We have some users that regularly hit $50 in about two weeks. If we didn’t, we would certainly have decreased the requirement from $50 to about $25 or less. That said, most users have a hard time hitting $50. Therefore, in September 2021, we’re going to change our reward model so that users can cash out anytime they want. For example, one will be able to cash out after hitting $1, $2, $3, or whatever. However, with the new model, it will be even harder to hit $50 but you won’t need to since you will be allowed to cash out anytime. ******************** I’m more than half way there and if I can’t cash out at $50 definitely reporting and leave a real negative review. >>> Several people cash out frequently after getting to $50. We have some who even wait until $150. If people were not able to cash out, several real negative reviews would already exist about that and the App Store would have probably already suspended our app. ******************** I really enjoy the motivation behind this app. Nothing else like it that I know of. >>> Thanks

I’m changing my review

I originally rated this 4 because I had a problem but the developer helped me fix it turns out I was just being dumb, but overall great app!

By default, your Virtual Battery has a 0% charge. When you walk, the battery charge increases from 0% to a higher value. 73,920 footsteps are required in order to get a 100% charge. When you recycle some items or sell your footsteps, the battery charge decreases. I think the number you are referring to is 73,920; not 345,000. The number 73,920 is not supposed to change: it’s purpose is to inform you how many footsteps it takes to fully charge your Virtual Battery. The value that changes is the percent and it does so based on your Virtual Battery’s charge level. Provided your Virtual Battery has some power, you should be able to recycle. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the stars

Slow

Scanning each bottle is extremely slow. Waiting for server to respond for each scan takes forever. No it’s not my internet connection. It doesn’t give option to enter quantity and do one scan since all bottles are exactly the same.
Slow. Very encouraging to stop recycling.
No body has time to sit there and wait for each scan to respond before you can scan next bottle that is exactly the same. Why not just let people enter quantity?

Response from developer

We apologize for the slow speed: this is certainly something people should know in advance before downloading the app and so we’re going to add it to the app’s description. That said, there’re other things that you can do with the app! We’re currently seeing an increase in the demand for footsteps and would like to strongly encourage you — as well as anyone else bothered by the slow speed — to open your Footstep Shop — if you haven’t already — and instead focus on selling your footsteps. The process is super fast and being able to sell your footsteps is undeniably awesome

Love the idea, but unfortunately…

Thank you for responding to my review. I know deep in my heart that that is not your intention to respond or come off in a way that you don’t intend. I am glad that you care about your customers, I would love to use this app and I am so glad that you were working to make it so that blind and visually impaired users can use it. I only wanted to give that word of advice, because I would hate for you to lose a great business. I am a business owner myself, and I would hate to see another business fall apart. You guys are great, and I only want to see you get even better. You guys are an excellent company and I love the fact that you came up with a way so that we can recycle products. Thank you very kindly for that, and I hope that the advice I gave you didn’t come off in an unpleasant way. I just believe in my heart that you are an awesome app developer, and you have created a wonderful app. I just don’t want to see your business go down the tubes all because another customer thought you were rude to them and reported you. I love you guys and your app and I want nothing more than to see your business grow. Thank you for reading and responding to my review and have a wonderful day. I love the idea of this app, unfortunately though, I am not able to create an account. I am totally blind, and I use voice over. Can someone please fix this issue so that I would be able to create an account, I want to be able to use this app. Another thing I would like to draw to your attention, if you could be so kind as to respond to peoples reviews in a much kinder manner, you will not lose your business. I don’t want that for you. Although I love this app, I am currently unable to use it since I cannot create an account. I want to be able to give you a chance, but I would like to let you know that I was reading customers reviews, and you responded to one of them with a very snotty attitude. Please keep in mind that with using an attitude like that you will not last very long. I would love to use this app, so if you would, please fix. Most importantly, please fix the way you respond to other peoples reviews. I guarantee you that once this is done more people will download and use your application. Just a word of advice from a potential customer. Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have an awesome day.

In order for you to be able to create an account, we’re going to modify the app by adding speech recognition capabilities to it. After this modification — which will assume you’re currently able to log in to Facebook or Apple — the app will work as follows: Step 1: Load the app Step 2: For one minute, the app listens to whatever you’re saying and if it detects the word “Voice” in your speech (ie if you say “Voice”,) it continues to listen to you for the rest of the app session otherwise, it stops Step 3: The next word the app will wait for — provided it continues to listen to you — is “Account.” If it detects that word, it will ask, “Would you like to log in with Apple?” This step assumes you will have your device’s volume turned up enough to be able to hear the app’s question Step 4: Next, the app will expect to detect either “Yes” or “No” from you. If it detects the latter, it will load Facebook’s log in dialogue otherwise, it will load Apple’s Step 5: At this point, you’re left to interact with either Facebook or Apple. The app has no control over what happens during your interaction with any of the two. All it does is wait for a message from any of the two Step 6: After receiving the message referred to in the previous step, the app will let you know whether you’re logged in. If this is the first time you’re logging in, an account will automatically be created for you FYI: We’re currently creating the Android version of the app and expect to be able to perform the above modification in July/August 2021 ******************** Another thing I would like to draw to your attention, if you could be so kind as to respond to peoples reviews in a much kinder manner, you will not lose your business... I was reading customers reviews, and you responded to one of them with a very snotty attitude. >>> We consider responding to reviews a priceless opportunity to further educate the reviewer in regards to how recyPay works. Hence, in our responses, we strive to be as explanatory and informative as possible. If in doing so, we create a false impression of being unkind or snotty, we’re greatly apologetic as that’s never our intention. Thanks for the stars

SCAM

DONT even waste your time it’s just a
S👏🏻C👏🏻A👏🏻M

If I could give no stars I would

This app is terrible. I didn’t get the “welcome bonus” they claim on the App Store page. I asked a question through customer service about why there are locations of this is virtual and received a snarky remark. The idea of “virtual” recycling is stupid anyway because it doesn’t actually help the environment in any way. Once you “virtually” recycle a can or bottle in the app, you get paid for it. But you could actually then just throw it away. The app doesn’t ask for any kind of confirmation that you physically recycled the can or bottle at any point. It’s not helpful at all in reducing waste and helping the environment. Very disappointing. Don’t download.

Your Welcome Bonus was added to your account balance. If you would like to have it transferred to you, please go to the “ACCOUNT” section of the app, tap the “Transfer” button, and follow the instructions you see just like everybody else does. ******************** I asked a question through customer service about why there are locations of this is virtual and received a snarky remark. >>> The Recycling Centers are virtual because the recycling is virtual. If you’re interested in virtually recyling from a recycling center that’s not virtual, you need to download an Augmented Reality app that offers that capability and you also need to purchase some AR headsets if you don’t already have any. recyPay is not an Augmented Reality app. ******************** The idea of “virtual” recycling is stupid anyway because it doesn’t actually help the environment in any way. Once you “virtually” recycle a can or bottle in the app, you get paid for it. But you could actually then just throw it away. >>> In our App Description, we’ve clearly stated that our goal is to incentivize recycling. Virtual Recycling and the rewards associated with it are simply an incentive to recycle. Numerous studies show that the effectiveness of incentives is partly dependent on human behavior. This implies that for a certain percent of humans, incentives are effective. It also means that a certain percentage of people that use recyPay either recycle or follow their local community’s guidelines in regards to recycling. Subsequently, Virtual Recycling and the rewards associated with it undisputedly benefits the environment. ******************** The app doesn’t ask for any kind of confirmation that you physically recycled the can or bottle at any point. It’s not helpful at all in reducing waste and helping the environment. >>> If you tap the “Bottle Bills” button located in the menu, the app offers you additional incentives provided you upload a document that confirms and proves you participate in your local community’s recycling program. Clearly, the app is helpful in reducing waste and helping the environment. ******************** Very disappointing. Don’t download. >>> For those of you that end up downloading the app anyway, using it is simple: just tap the “Scan” button to scan your items and then tap the “Recycle” button to recycle them.

Terrible 🤬

I scanned many cans and it keeps saying “waiting” it’s not even putting anything into my account so now I’m stuck at the “welcome bonus”. I would like to know where the heck my money is?

Response from developer

On July 15, 2020, recyPay had some technical issues that lasted for several hours. The issues were resolved and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to all our users on that day. UPDATE After further investigating this problem, we have concluded that it was not caused by the technical issue mentioned above. This is because of your reference to the word “Waiting.” “Waiting” is displayed in both the “Recycle” and “Account” sections of the app. Always displayed opposite to the word “Waiting” is the number of items that are waiting to be recycled. When you tap the “Recycle” button located in the menu, the number of items that are waiting to be recycled decreases and the number of items that have been recycled increases, provided your Virtual Battery has enough power. Being stuck at the welcome bonus means that you haven’t yet recycled anything. As soon as you recycle, your account balance should increase beyond the bonus.

Not sure how this actually pays or if it’s legit but I scanned over 300 soda cans and bottles and it was keeping track of how many I scanned and how much I was at , but I don’t see where my info was saved and I scanned over $25 worth of cans

Response from developer

This most likely happened because there was no internet connection. The app is not able to save your items if there is no internet connection. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We are going to modify the app so that it warns you the moment you lose your connection to the internet. We will also consider saving your data locally on your device as this approach requires no internet.

Good app

I like the idea behind it. It also encourages you to walk, and get your steps in. The only downside is that it seems to only track the phone, and not the actual data being produced between my Apple Watch and phone. Anyway, it could be something worth integrating later on, especially for guys like me that got an Apple Watch to not have to carry a phone in our pocket all the time.
