“Read in app” option doesn’t work

The search inside app isn’t great. So i search on Google and then access the website. from the website, i expect to go to the app by clicking the “read in app” option. However the link redirects to App Store and not the app.

Response to developer response:
1. Search inside the app has issues. you don’t always know the exact words of the poem you want to search. So you search through estimation. And Google gives you the result. The app doesn’t. Ex. I searched “hazaaron daleelin aisi” on app, and it gave absurd results but the google search gave me the rekhta link to “hazaaron khwaishein aisi” as the top result.
2. The “read in app” option shouldn’t take me to app store if the app is already installed. It should take me to the poem in the app where I can save/like/bookmark it. For ex. If someone sends you an Instagram link and it opens on the web browser, clicking on the “open in app” option leads to that reel/post on Instagram, it doesn’t take me to Instagram if it is already installed. And that is how it should be. Why take me to App Store if I already have the app?

Dear Aman, thank you for your feedback. Could you please share more details about the issues you’re facing with the in-app search so we can understand and improve it? Regarding the “Read in App” option, it is designed to redirect users to the App Store, where they can access the Rekhta app. We appreciate your understanding and feedback. Team Rekhta

Best for exploring Urdu Poetry world

The availability of poetry in Hindi, tapping on words to know meaning, collection of all urdu legends, Urdu dictionary on the side, ability to save poetry and follow shayars, arrangement of all the things….. This app is perfect….. Thank you for doing this

Revert back to old app

I can’t use rekhta app after the recent updates; tried multiple cycle of uninstall/install but of no use.
It is taking forever to load data on app, please revert it back to old design/GUI.

Look into bugs

Appreciate this app so much for poetry lovers man but only if it was convenient to use it would’ve be great. So many glitches snd bugs and funny how i cant even t
Open the app anymore after the update.
And a few poets like Harivansh rai bacchan and such are missing.

Great concept but manyy bugs

I have been using the app for a while, and I have been following great and really appreciate these initiatives to spread the love of poetry, but only problem is it lagging a lot after one or two uses and it’s not loading quickly, and it’s not showing any of my saved poetry and you know, I have to go back again and again, so that’s a little bit of Bhagya and I hope Rekhta can fix as soon as possible and face issues with other Rekhta website, as well.

SUFINAMA

Excellent app but NEED SUFINAMA APP!!!

CFO (Owner-Employee)

I can’t write in Urdu but can write Hindi fluently. My father was well-versed in Urdu and did much of his correspondence in Urdu. It’s from him that I picked up many words of Urdu and, I’m glad, they still are ‘alive’.

Dear Mr. Benny Golchha, Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. It truly means a lot to us that the platform serves as a window into a cherished past and helps keep the beauty of Urdu alive. Your reflection on your father’s connection with the language is especially touching—we’re honoured to play a small role in preserving such memories. We sincerely appreciate your support. If you find value in our work, we would be grateful if you could also share it with your friends and loved ones. Team Rekhta

not made for tablets

I am a regular user on the small screen but with a bit of altered vision wanted to try it on an iPad but unfortunately it is not designed for bigger screens.
Request Team Rekhta to consider this request.
Beyond this, Rekhta is a BIG part of life.

bring back the classic

I have been a loyal reader on Rekhta for a long time, but the new update with the scroll-type layout is very disappointing. The old style was simple, elegant, and much easier to navigate. This new "feed" style feels cluttered and makes it harder to find the specific poets and ghazals I love.
My Request to the Developers:
1. Please bring back the Old Classic Style as the default.
2. If you want to keep the new scroll layout, please give us a "Classic Mode" toggle in the settings so we can choose the layout we prefer.
The old tab system was perfect for a serious reader. If the UI stays this chaotic, I’m afraid you will lose many long-time readers like me. Please listen to your community!

Dear Abhay, thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your patience and would like to clarify that we are currently working on improvements to the Home Page experience. In an upcoming update, the Home Page will be personalised based on your activity. The poets, ghazals, and sher you follow, like, or read will help us show you similar and relevant content on your Home Page. This will make it easier for you to discover poetry that truly matches your interests. Thank you for being a valued Rekhta reader. Team Rekhta

Merge Rekhta Dictionary Fully into Rekhta App

Great app with amazing Urdu poetry. One suggestion: please merge all features of the Rekhta Dictionary into the main Rekhta app. The current dictionary inside Rekhta is limited, and switching between two apps is inconvenient. A single app with full dictionary support would be much better for users.

Response from developer

Dear Aadil, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and kind words. The Rekhta app and the Rekhta Dictionary app are designed for different purposes. The Rekhta app offers basic dictionary support for quick reference, while the Rekhta Dictionary is a dedicated, much more extensive resource. Keeping them separate allows us to maintain depth and performance in the dictionary. We truly appreciate your suggestion and understanding. Team Rekhta

Latest update

The latest update is annoying as all the saved collections are now not categorised. Previously ghazal, nazm, sher et cetra were saved under their particular headings not everything just under one. It’s difficult to find what I want. Undo this menace.

The new update that makes it feel like instagram

Please bring back the old user interface. Now it seems like instagram. Your previous UI was awesome- new everyday. Please bring back the old UI!

One of the best Urdu poetry app

Main is app ko almost 5-6 years sy use kr rha hn or ye urdu poetry ka sbsy best app ha or main sub logo ko recommend krnga, but new update jo aii ha wo bhot zyada buri ha or network problems bhi ha ismy or old design bhot acha tha

Ipad incompatible app

The app is incompatible on the ipad interface. The UI is mobile design, the text is too small to read even when it’s enlarged and in landscape mode.

Is there an option to roll back to the previous version?

Although change is inevitable, bringing change just for the sake of it is foolish. The intuitiveness, ease of use, and no-nonsense interface of the old version were excellent, but I suppose you had to replace it with whatever this current, stinking piece of garbage is. I don’t want to go into details, but this one gets me every time- I loved that small toggle in some shers that let you jump to the ghazal it belonged to. Now it’s gone. Why?

Update issue

Since last update we need to change script every time. Kindly give it in settings

Better to worse.

Something has been changed better to worse , I was using app in Urdu now I can’t figure it out how to get back in Urdu / so many things are disappeared, now using web page instead of app.

Response from developer

Dear Ashar, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concern regarding the recent update, where the app interface has changed and the Urdu language option seems difficult to access. Your feedback has been shared with our IT team, and they are actively working on restoring and improving the language preference and other features to enhance your experience. We truly appreciate your patience and support. We hope that you’ll enjoy the upcoming updates even more, and your feedback helps us make the app better for users like you. Team Rekhta

Illiterate + inexperienced Developer
