Great idea great effort

Still needs more reliable speeds and the text doesn’t really work very well. I like it but it needs to have a better software. I tried to buy lens but their was no obvious link in the app… revenue miss

Great app

I use this even without the goggles — best maps and stats around and its free

Rekkie goggles

If you want to enhance your time on the slopes, these goggles are exactly what you need. I don’t have to worry about losing my group since their active location is on the HUD, it even knows which run/lift you are on. Tracking my speed and vertical is awesome. Battery lasts all day and the magnetic lenses are great. Connecting to the app is easy and stores all your stats from the day. I strongly recommend to any group or individual for their next trip!

Never Ready

Every time I use the goggles I have to reset my settings, recalibrate the goggles and it will get stuck in pairing mode. Very frustrating.

Great view

These goggles are great. They work very well as goggles. I like that you can see your stats in real time control your music see the location of your buddies, but the lack of historical data that you can see for your skiing tracks in the app makes the app lackluster. They definitely need to incorporate a historical log of your stats.
Please do it

Awesome Goggles

I used these last year and have been using it a few times this year. If you are skiing in a group, these are invaluable. I can keep track of people especially our slower members. The goggle shows where everyone is and has a really good refresh rate. The text message feature seemed kinda corny but on the lift its great to review any texts to see if any are worth responding to. Lots of other fun things like telling you which run you are on, etc. I havent had any connection issues but every once in a while i have to resync the goggles to the app. Battery life will take you an entire day. (8a-4p). Lastly…they never fog.

don’t trust

don’t trust their advertising and definitely don’t trust the photos in this app preview. the “stats” page does not exist and is not a feature. the “upgrade” option is also not a feature that they offer. they’re showing you here what they want to do in the future, in my opinion it’s ridiculous/lying.

Connection issues

The goggles constantly reset and ask you to turn directions to set the compass. Everything disappears constantly and I have to push the side button to make it come back.
Side button rubber also fell out before I used them on the first day.

JUST TERRIBLE

Comunicación problems

I want to love it but …

I’ve been waiting to give this review a try, hoping that some software updates would fix the issues I’ve been having. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened yet.

Let me start by saying that I really love the idea of these goggles and I was hoping they’d be amazing. After using them for over a year, I’d say they’re okay, but not great.

The good:
The feature that lets you see where others in your group are on the mountain is a game-changer. Even with the problems I’ve had with it, it’s still worth using. As for the goggles themselves, they’re not the absolute best, but they’re not bad either.

The bad:
- They often reboot themselves while I’m on a run. They do reboot and reconnect pretty quickly, probably in about 3 seconds, but when they do it over and over, it gets annoying. This doesn’t always happen, but it’s frequent enough that it’s a pain.
-
- It probably takes me about 5 minutes to turn them off. I’m not sure what the magic incantation is, but I’ll have to go through the process an average of 15 - 20 times, and then one time it will magically turn off. When it doesn’t magically turn off, it resets itself, which means the next time I ski, I have to spend another 5 minutes getting it set back up on my phone.
-
- It’s like performing heart surgery to get it back into the case without accidentally hitting the button that turns it back on, and then I have to go through the painful process to turn it off again. I think they’ve updated it now with an actual on/off switch, which would eliminate these two really painful issues.
-
- The lenses are interchangeable, but after removing the lens that it came with, I’ve spent more than an hour trying to get the other lens to fully seat back in the goggles. In the end, I had to give up on getting the top part of the lens to insert into the top channel of the goggles. It does still work without it being fully seated, but I do have to be careful if I grip the goggles to adjust them on my face because if I squeeze, the lens will pop out because it’s not fully seated. I’ll admit that this last one may be a me problem, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get the new lens or the old lens to fully seat.

It’s possible that I received an early production version and that they have now ironed out the kinks, but I’m just not willing to spend another $350 to find out.
