My experience working for Relay has been very disappointing.
For example, you may be given a 2-hour delivery shift, but in reality the work can sometimes take 3 hours or even longer. When there are extra parcels or delays on the route, the additional time is not always properly paid. You can end up spending extra hours working for little or no extra money.
Another issue is undelivered parcels. If you cannot complete all the deliveries within the allocated time, you may have to return the remaining parcels to the original location. In my experience, the extra time and fuel involved in returning these parcels are not properly compensated.
There is also a concern about the payment shown for some shifts. For example, a shift may be advertised as £38, but after completing it, the amount appearing in the account can be £35 or £33. This should be clearly explained and transparent.
I would advise anyone thinking about working for Relay to carefully check how payments are calculated, especially for extra time, additional parcels, and returning undelivered parcels.
Drivers work hard, spend their own fuel, and give their time. The payment system should be fair, transparent and reflect the actual time and costs involved.

Mixed review
It’s not the worst, but also not great. I also do food delivery on a moped so if I were to compare relay, it does have some advantages such as guaranteed work and pay and no waiting around for orders.
However, I feel like it’s a company that doesn’t value your efforts. You pay the fuel, insurance, servicing, maintenance, and it’s your own vehicle you use. Relay doesn’t need to provide you anything, yet they pay just about minimum wage for completing the drops only. Nothing else is taken into consideration. And most of the time the routes take longer than the expected pay. So when your day is finished, and you’ve worked extremely hard, you’re not going to end up with much, especially after deducting all of your expenses and tax.
Also, if something happens that is out of your control, such as your vehicle breaking down or a major road closure that prevents you from completing your route, your performance will be affected when you have to end your route and return the parcels, even though you have a valid reason that is out of your control. And eventually, you might get suspended if things happen enough times.
I did however enjoy relay to a certain extent, I always did like 1 or 2 routes a day here and there just to combine it with food delivery and maximise my earnings, hence the 3 star rating, but I don’t think I can ever do this full time. Very cheeky company that basically pays you below minimum wage.

Overall, my four months using Relay have been a mixed experience. The flexibility and convenience are genuinely some of the app’s biggest strengths, particularly being able to choose how much you work and which areas you want to deliver in. The app itself has also improved significantly since I started, with fewer crashes and much more reliable navigation.
However, the low pay on pre-booked routes, frequent cancellations and ongoing navigation issues can make the experience frustrating. The biggest issue for me has ultimately been the repeated account suspensions for what Relay classifies as “unsafe deliveries.” In my experience, these flags were sometimes issued despite following the delivery procedures, and I was never given a clear explanation of what had caused them. After several suspensions, my account was eventually permanently off-boarded.
For anyone considering Relay, I would say the flexibility is a major advantage, but you should also be aware of the inconsistencies with pay, shift availability and account enforcement. Personally, despite enjoying many aspects of the platform, the uncertainty surrounding suspensions and the permanent loss of my account has ultimately left me with a negative overall experience.

Courier car driver
There is money to be made in my area if you put the hours in and are very efficient. Sometimes the routes take longer or you have to travel to a further pit stop to what you expected and none of these extra costs are considered. Sometimes routes have rediculous prices and after tax sometimes if haven’t done enough hours it’s not worth it. The app Navigation is really poor and it’s not accurate the app can also be glitchy and delivery photos fail to go through.

Unfair Delivery Disputes
My experience with the Relay app has been very disappointing. I completed my deliveries and followed the required process, including taking two proof-of-delivery pictures as requested. Despite this, some customers reported that their parcels were not received, even though I had evidence showing the deliveries were completed.
The communication and support from Relay have been frustrating. Drivers should have a fair investigation process where their proof and explanations are properly considered before serious decisions are made.
Couriers work hard to deliver parcels correctly, and Relay needs to improve its support, communication, and review process so drivers are treated fairly.

Do NOT be fooled
Can you theoretically make good money, yes! Absolutely!
HOWEVER.
You have to be willing to play stupid games with traffic, pedestrians and all sorts of idiocy to keep up with their schedule sometimes. If you book two in a row, which you have to do to make any decent money and you’re more than 20 minutes late for whatever road related reason? Suspended for the day. Unlucky enough for it to happen more than once? 3 day ban.
Now all of that sounds avoidable and for the most part it is, if it weren’t for the idiocy and incompetence of the support team. 50% of the time helpful, 50% will just copy and paste something generic which doesn’t help and close the chat on you, all of which is done during the time you’re meant to be driving. App will often send you miles off course, onto the wrong road, purely because, geographically it’s close. In road reality? Not so much. Good luck catching up after that.
If you need to contact someone about an issue you have via email, good luck. They simply don’t respond.
Are you desperate? Go for it. If not, find something that’ll annoy you far less.

VERY deceptive earning potential
Best thing about this app compared to others is how frequent you can withdraw earnings. Other than that Relay sets unrealistic expectations on the cost/effort it takes to execute deliveries. No easy way to cancel routes when delays occur without being locked out of booking routes as “punishment”.
The time it takes to attend, load and complete routes isn’t factored into the “£17p/h” claim, as most routes as most will take more longer than stated. It’s easy work but when your planned 4 hour day turns into 7 hours and you’ve only got £60 and half a tank less of petrol to show for it, you’ll start questioning your choices.
Easiest way to maximise your pay is to climb up the tiers (from bronze to platinum) as soon as possible. But even then you’ll end up with a delivery drop in the middle of a busy high street that you’ll risk a parking ticket to complete, even though the app doesn’t factor in (or compensate for) ease of resident access when putting routes together.

Pathetic app performance and support
This app is one of the worst app I found here. When I navigating between stops, the app keeps shuts down in the middle of nowhere. Then I have to find a parking place to get this sorted. Even after doing everything, the app keeps shuts down. And they don’t count this issue towards calculating the couriers performance score. Even after multiple queries for this issue, the support team always feeding back the same solution. Not working for me.
Also the courier service fee which we receive is not fair and even close to minimum. How you calculate the payments? For a route having 24 stops then the rate will be close to £14? This isn’t not even £1/parcel. Each parcel has to be handed over safely and to avoid complaints we need to make call to customers. After all these, it may take up to 5mins/parcel for these type deliveries. Even very difficult to park my car as these address locates nearly where there is no designated parking bays. Tired of running marathons. If we miss to deliver the parcel on account of these, they will log this as performance issue.
Not a friendly driver service from the company.

I’m relay driver for 3 months
I’ve been working here for three months now, and I can say for sure that they try to pay as little as possible. They might estimate a two-hour job, but you end up finishing in two hours and twenty minutes—meaning an extra 20–30 minutes of work. I contacted support asking for compensation, but they told me there wouldn't be any. If you compare this to Amazon, you usually finish at least ten minutes early (sometimes even sooner) and get paid much better; plus, if you do happen to finish late, the compensation makes it worth it. So, I wouldn't recommend this job.

Really impressed with Relay
I love that I can work in my area without having to commute to a depot miles away. I wouldnt trade that for Amazon flex or evri.
Does not load
The app does not load on my iPhone but loads on an android phone
Very good
I think the only issue is the app is very slow when taking pictures to confirm delivery other than it’s very good anyone complaining about this app this means you should find something else for you to do
Can't login into the app
When I open it just buffers and cnt logout of also.
worst experience
App crashes all the time. Lags. Not user friendly. Really stupid safe place options. And every delivery is made so hectic and time consuming. Like just because of the app and the system, this is the worst experience and takes around 5-10 minutes for every delivery. And the pay is reducing every day. It’s worst experience

Bad platforms
The app make no sense.jobs that are supposed to take 2 hours often take 4-4.5 hours in reality, when that happens, the app penalizes drivers by lowering their ratings because of the delay.
This is one of the worst delivery platform I have ever used.
Not advising anyone to use it.

I started working a week ago. I came across following issues.
1. Unjust suspension: they suspended my account twice in a week based on usnsafe package delivery which should happen if a customer complaints that they did not received their parcel. I placed parcels inside doors where they had dogs in their porches and i didn’t felt safe to enter.
2. Unjust time allocated:
They expect me to call 57 people in 2hr 35min drive 22 km and sort all the parcels which are always late for collecting. Take 104 pictures of deliveries scan 104 times. Drive run talk click everything and sometimes find houses because map is pathetic.
3. No partner support:
The app is offering absolutely no partner support. Last time there was a parcel that was not on my route it took me 40 minutes to get that sorted with the pit stop. No help if your account gets suspended or get reported.
