You're right, and I'm sorry. An ad popping up while you're reaching for a button is exactly the wrong moment. The honest answer is that the free version is paid for by ads, but since version 1.1 there's a one-time Remove Ads purchase in Settings, no subscription, and it switches every ad off for good. If an ad ever sends you to something that looks like a scam, please send me the details through Settings > Feedback so I can report and block that advertiser. Thanks for telling me straight.

Only issue is that the Keyboard mode does not work even though the keyboard on screen is activated and awaiting input.
Maybe it's because I'm using a mesh router, but don't know 🤷♂️

Thanks for the kind words and the detailed report. The mesh router is probably innocent here. The TV only accepts typed text once a text field on the TV is actually selected, so the trick is: on the TV, move the cursor into the search box or password field first, then type from the app. Newer versions of the app now tell you when no field is selected. If it still ignores you after that, drop me a line from Settings > Feedback with the TV model and the app you were typing into.

We’re sorry an ad interrupted you while using the remote. You can now purchase the ad-free version to remove ads. Full-screen ads are limited to 1–2 every 1–2 hours and only appear after you’ve reached a usage threshold. Thank you for sharing your frustration—we hear you.

Freezes up after using for a minute or so

That was a real bug, not just an annoyance, and I'm sorry you hit it. Since then the ad loading was rebuilt so there's a single ad loader instead of two competing ones, and if you'd rather have no ads at all there's a one-time Remove Ads purchase in Settings. If anything still freezes on your TV, send me the model through Settings > Feedback and I'll chase it.

Would also like the ability to tap and hold to mimic a press and hold of the center/ok button of an actual remote.

I can’t find a spot to pay to remove ads from your app but I happily would as you didn’t try to swindle me with some subscription plan to use your app in the first place. I would pay a one time fee to remove ads something like $10 if it was an option or even like $5/year but I understand the ease of ad revenue so I support your decision to have ads and will continue to use your app.
Thank you for being a decent human and a great developer, I appreciate your content and decisions. Please make more useful apps or consider a way to offer ad free options in the future.
