Wake On LAN (WOL) is a networking standard that allows a computer to be turned on or woken up from a low-power state by a network message. This app utilizes WOL to send the necessary signals to your computer, enabling you to power it on remotely.
To use this app, your computer must support WOL and be properly configured. This includes settings in the OS, BIOS, and router. Once configured, you can use the app on your iOS device to send the WOL packet to your computer's network adapter, initiating its startup.
This app works with computers that support Wake On LAN and have been correctly configured. A basic understanding of network settings is required. Compatibility depends on your computer's hardware and network setup, including OS, BIOS, and router configurations.
Yes, the application includes a ping function. This allows you to check the network status of your computer, verifying if it is online. This feature can be useful to confirm your computer's availability before attempting to wake it up.
