Buggy

Deleting a single workout messed up all of the charts (points are out of order) and there’s no way to fix it.

Could be better

I like it a lot. But I have some feature requests. And buddy hasn’t touched it in over a year, so he’s unlikely to implement requests. I don’t blame him, it is what it is. Maybe I’ll just build my own? Sounds complicated…

Great App!

Very straightforward and simple, really makes my workouts efficient and effective. However, I would like to be able to name the workouts and not have them just “A,B,C,etc.”

overall solid but some minor issues

it would be nice to be able to increase the bottom sets when you achieved the rep count last time around but failed the top set. this would put it more in line with the leangains guide.

Buggy

Very expensive for an app that isn’t particularly intuitive and when you input data you have to put it in a specific order or otherwise it doesn’t save. I’m going back to the Hevy app which I used before and just adjusting for RPT

Easy to use

The app is easy to use without overwhelmning one with a lot of fluff.
However I wish they would have option to add more exercises

Using this app for 3+ years

Simple to use. Intuitive interface.
Tracks my stats over the short term and long term.
Best app for RPT training hands down.

Wish it had more options on workouts

Love this app for RPT. Wish you could add more exercises (leg press, incline bench, dumbbells etc.).

Thanks for your review! You can add more exercises. In Settings, click on Exercises then in the top right you'll see a + sign for adding new exercises

The Reverse Pyramid Training app

This is THE reverse pyramid training app. I makes it extremely easy to keep track of the weights you need to do. It even tells you what to put on the rack. Fantastic app.

Somewhat Limited Functionality

Cannot add lifts with dumbbells.

Terrible

This app is so simple it wipes out the workouts and exercises you entered if you press the wrong icon. Oh, and the icons aren’t explained (.wth is an ambulance icon doing on the bottom of the workout settings?). It’s NOT intuitive at all. Supposedly you can restore if you press the wrong icon. However, ypu have to go locate the backup, wherever you stored it, and open it using the app. It doesn’t work. I tried to restore a backup, says doesn’t recognise the file. Get this if you want your data to be lost.

Second and third set adjustments?

This app is so good!! RPT is simply the best and most efficient way for most people to train for life!! this is such a terrific tool that complements the training..
I have one question, is there a way to change your weight on the second and third sets? So if I set my first set at 55lbs, it then sets my second at 45lb and then third at 40lb. I’d like to be able to control those percentages..

Glad this app was made

After reading lean gains it was nice to come across this app that does all the math for me and tells me what plates to put on. It would be nice if I could change the workout days by switching A and B day. It would also be nice if the warm up sets had a timer

I’ve tried them all. This is the best.

Simple UI, really easy to use. In and out of the gym within 45 mins and making the biggest gains since lifting for 20 years.

Great RPT app

A simple, straightforward app that makes following a reverse pyramid training program easy to follow. After trying several other apps, this is the one I’m sticking with.

Exactly what I needed for reverse pyramid training.

Easy to use

10/10. Easy to use for leangains programming.

An additional feature I would like to see in the future is to be able to adjust the incremental weight formula. Only because some exercises like pull ups on the machine where you offload your weight, is inverse to the way the math works here. A small inconvenience that I work around with just writing a note of what percentage of my body weight I offloaded.

Overall the app is a 10/10 experience. Downloaded it and don’t look back.

Just needs a watch app

This is perfect for reverse pyramid. Only complaint is that I still need to carry my phone at the gym without a watch app.
